We develop, test and bring to market new and innovative forms of Reduced Risk Products (RRP), such as e-cigarettes and tobacco vapor products and other alternative nicotine delivery systems.    
In Vienna we are about to enforce our R&D strength by transferring our Product & Technology Development Capabilities for our Reduced Risk Products (RRP) into a newly formed organization. Therefore, we are looking for a curious, collaborative and innovation-driven team player for the role of 


Mechanical Engineer / Product Development Engineer (f/m/d)
 

 

 

What will you do?
You will…

•    Design, develop and optimize Reduced Risk Products, focusing on all parts for assembly and manufacturability, design verification and validation and associated material specifications
•    Provide the necessary expertise in mechanical engineering, choosing appropriate materials and production methods to develop technical solutions and deliver acceptable products/prototypes
•    Consider and propose different scenarios and solutions which would fulfill consumer requirements 
•    Create the architecture and industrial design of Reduced Risk Products ensuring that product technical requirements are met
•    Support the generation/advancement of novel material technology to ensure regulatory acceptability and to work towards current and future sustainability requirements
•    Develop internal and external testing and verification procedures for the overall design
•    Manage vendor relationships with external partners and coordinate material development and qualification activities with key suppliers

 

Who are we looking for?
You have…

•    At least 5 years hands-on experience in consumer product development and knowledge on how to bring these high-volume designs to mass manufacturing partners is a MUST
•    Consumer centricity and solution-orientated thinking
•    Ability to create detailed mechanical engineering drawings and documentation hands-on
•    In-depth understanding of mass manufacturing processes (plastics and elastomers, metals, etc.)
•    Competency in Design for Manufacture: excellent knowledge of material properties and specifying appropriately according to process and application
•    An advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering/Material Science (or equivalent)
•    Excellent computer skills in M-CAD & 3-D drawing software (NX or SolidWorks is desirable)
•    Fluency in English (German is considered a plus)
•    Skills and knowledge in the following fields are of advantage: Design & Development, Mechanical, Electrical, Material Specifications, Industrial Design, Novel Material Technology, Design Reviews, Tolerance Stack Analysis, Testing & Design Verification/Validation, Intellectual Property
•    Good organization skills and a high level of self-motivation and responsibility. Able to take initiative, manage individual workload and collaborate effectively within the team. 

 

Our offer 
We offer you attractive working conditions in an international company with modern equipment in a good location in Vienna. In addition to extensive social benefits, a total annual gross salary of at least € 60.000 is provided for this position if the requirements are met. Depending on qualification and previous experience, the willingness to overpay is given.
