Demand Planning Specialist 

 

The Demand Planning function is responsible for the overall management strategy for all of JTIP's SKUs. The main objectives of this function is to (1) improve overall forecast accuracy, (2) optimize inventory holdings and (3) minimize overall costs both in raw materials and expiring FG inventory.

 

The Demand Planning Specialist is responsible for crafting and driving the demand planning strategy -- ensuring that sales forecasts for JTIP's products are both accurate and flexible, withstanding external and internal factors affecting sales performance.

 

The Demand Planning Specialist will also be treated as a subject matter expert -- leading cross-functional teams and orchestrating end-to-end supply chain activities to ensure high levels of efficiencies across the chain. 

 

As the Demand Planning Specialist, you will:

  • Orchestrate end-to-end planning activities by developing demand forecasts with different aggregation levels and multiple time horizons. You should be able to make business decisions based on analyzing historical sales trends, researching demand drivers and developing statistical forecast models. Recommend key assumption changes in the demand plan by analyzing local trends, promotional program efficacy and offtake growth. Lead cross-functional meetings with sales, marketing, and finance to better understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Become subject matter experts in planning by demonstrating leadership and engaging with peers in creating business plans and process improvement initiatives. Build the culture of continuous process improvement across varying functions and teams, occasionally sponsor training and on-the-ground workshops to cultivate the mindset of continuous improvement in the demand planning process. Implement and own a regional demand planning processes with the ability to craft a bottoms-up forecast. Work with local and regional management to understand high-level business metrics and translate these metrics to actionable and measurable processes
  • Optimize overall supply chain inventory by developing and proposing ideal inventory targets. Implement inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs in order to ensure supply continuity and minimize costs.
    Recommend gap-closing initiatives by leading cross-functional meetings in order to ensure supply continuity across the supply chain. Prepare detailed project plans.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus forecast approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts. Facilitate and lead monthly Demand Review Meetings and present various reports such as Forecast Accuracy Reports, Inventory Ageing, Write-Off Scenario Planning  and Out-of-Stock Monitoring as part of the Local S&OP process. 
  • Manage Material Master Data activities and ensure all plans are reflected properly to the global planning systems. Upload to the global planning systems (IBP, SAP) all the volume reporting requirements during monthly, LE and ASP cycles in a timely and correct manner.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration preferably under Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in demand planning in a sales and distribution environment of a FMCG industry
  • Knowledge in IBP or SAP is an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel and is able to swiftly learn new systems
