Location: JTI Malvar Branch

Reporting to: Department Manager

PACKER MECHANIC

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Diagnose and rectify machine faults and inefficiencies and maintain key spare components.
• Provide relief to operating crews by running designated machines to production standard.
• Identify and implement technical measures on machinery and equipment to maintain and improve machines efficiency and product quality.
• Assist as required with the maintenance of all production and ancillary machinery, keeping records and continuous development of maintenance procedures and practices.

Who you are: 

• Preferably a graduate of a Vocational or Technical course
• At least 1 year of experience in overhauling, troubleshooting, maintaining Sassib and GDX 1, 2 and 5 machines within the tobacco industry
• Proficiency in:
  • Reading and writing simple field work reports in English
  • Basic computer application skills (including data entry)
• Flexibility to work on a shifting schedule
