Employee Relations & Compliance Specialist (Temporary)

 

 

WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT - PURPOSE

 

The role will be responsible to ensure adherence to all applicable Company policies and government regulations to avoid any labor issues and concerns and to make sure that all employees are following internal policies and guidelines.  Manages the Company’s relationship with its employees by proper handling of labor issues and frequent coordination with the Business Partners and employees.

 

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO - RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the Employee Relations and Compliance Manager in executing strategies in ensuring 100% compliance to all related employee relations policies, government regulations, local laws/processes and company-specific regulations.
  • Implements Employee Relations (ER) and Compliance programs and strategies to enable effective management, conflict resolution and problem solving to manage Company’s relationship with its employees in collaboration with the Business Partners and other stakeholders.
  • Provides strategic support, guidance and coaching to all levels in the Organization in collaboration and in consultation with the Legal Team and other stakeholders in the Company.
  • Facilitates the use of effective documentation techniques and maintaining accurate, confidential records regarding all reported matters and fact-finding documentation and implements investigation process in collaboration with the HR Business Partner and the business:
    • Tracking and responding to complaints while also maintaining records of every compliance activities
    • Preparing and filing of compliance reports (local, regional, corporate)
    • Preparing all the necessary documentations/evidence during arbitration or other labor negotiations 
    • Preparing evidence for disciplinary hearings or admin hearings and to prepare witnesses who will testify
    • Updating of Trackers and providing the necessary report to all stakeholders
  • Generates reports on compliance issues, concerns or arguments to determine viability and to address them immediately and that all related internal policies and processes are observed and executed properly.  Provides relevant analysis and guidance on the identification of possible corrective actions.
  • Implements employee relations initiatives and interventions through cross-functional partnership.
  • Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request.

 

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR - REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, management or any related course.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Employee Relations and HR compliance as generalist or specialist.
  • With knowledge of local laws, labor standard and procedures and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Familiarity with other aspects of HR including training, recruitment, performance management, OD, benefits policies and compensation management
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate and influence people at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Willing to conduct occasional field visits to other JTI sites as needed.
