Payroll Specialist (Temporary)
A Payroll Specialist ensures the smooth and timely delivery of payroll services to all stakeholders (entities, regions, and employees) in line with agreed service levels. The role focuses on improving processes and providing reliable, end-to-end support across different P&C areas, following standard procedures. This includes reviewing and verifying payroll data across systems, reconciling reports, supporting payroll runs, and making necessary corrections when needed. The Payroll Specialist also handles updates to payroll records, including recurring and one-time payments or deductions, and helps manage and review employee lifecycle data in global systems such as SAP. The role involves checking payroll reports for any issues and working with the team to resolve them, as well as supporting reporting and basic analysis activities. In addition, the Payroll Specialist responds to payroll-related questions, keeps procedures up to date as processes evolve, and supports the onboarding and training of new team members.
As the Payroll Specialist in the area of People andCulture Service Delivery, you will be doing the following:
- Payroll Support - You will provide services based on the P&C Service Catalogue by responding to inquiries and requests in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. You will follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) when handling tickets submitted through the MyJTI ticketing system (ServiceNow), ensuring all requests and employee data, templates, and documents are properly reviewed and validated based on defined checklists. You will review organizational structures in SAP HR and other relevant systems, as well as employee lifecycle events in line with corporate and local guidelines. You will help ensure that all required data and documents are ready for payroll runs and support regular employee communications related to P&C processes, such as annual data validation or tax submissions. In addition, you will prepare reports using standard templates, support the creation of more complex reports, and contribute to tracking and collecting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- System Change Requests - Support markets in defining business requirements for system changes and play an active role in testing new or updated solutions. You will work closely with BTS IT to recommend and implement system enhancements that improve GBS efficiency and overall service delivery. You will provide guidance to local teams on systems and processes within the GBS scope, helping ensure consistent and effective ways of working. You will also identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement changes that drive efficiency through the standardization of operating procedures. You will also support the implementation and rollout of new systems across different markets, contributing to smooth transitions and successful adoption.
- Training and Expertise Sharing - You will deliver functional training in line with the GBS Training Strategy and Framework. This includes supporting the onboarding of new team members, helping upskill existing team members, and encouraging the sharing of best practices across the team.
- SOPs and Related Documents Update - Keep payroll-related documents, procedures, and the Service Catalogue up to date to reflect any system or process changes. You will create and update training materials, including guides, knowledge base articles, and e-learning content. You will also review existing SOPs, suggest improvements, and develop new procedures when needed to support continuous improvement and team effectiveness.
