WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT - PURPOSE

 

The incumbent will primarily be responsible for 2 key capabilities within the retail marketing team: Planning and development of National Trade Activations, and Trade Engagement Programs for our strategic partners.

 

Under our National Trade Activations capability, they are responsible for the development of Brand Campaign Activations and National Program development.

 

They need to monitor processes and other partners throughout the process development of programs beginning with the involvement of other M&S functions in objective setting, Legal, CA, and Finance, in compliance checks, and the field teams for localization and execution. The incumbent will also be our primary contact window with any third-party agencies through whom these activations are run.

 

On the Trade Engagement End, they are responsible for supporting the management with strategic projects that strive for relationship building between JTI and key retailers. Under this scope, they handle Trade Events, Sell in Sell out Programs, and other such activations.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO - RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and Planning - Trade Activations: Support trade program execution and reporting of program outcomes while ensuring alignment with brand strategy & objectives. Ensure effective channel support through the development of programs with objectives and important metrics in line with the role of each channel, and the overall strategy. Having a commercial approach at all times - especially when assessing investments of each activation and the returns in objectives they generate.

    In terms of process, there are 3 in which the incumbent is heavily involved.They are responsible for supporting these processes and other stakeholders throughout the development of programs beginning with the involvement of other M&S functions in objective setting, Legal, CA, and Finance, in compliance checks, and the field teams for localization and execution. The incumbent will also be our primary contact window with any third-party agencies through whom these activations are run.

    • Support in nationwide program planning within internal JTI Myanmar collaborators and support alignment & briefing to the distributor sales force.

    • Ensure smooth & excellent trade program execution on-ground and monitor the usage of trade promotional items (trade brochures, trade gifts, sales kits) and remaining inventory in the warehouse.

    • Handle purchasing process with various third-party agencies for all trade-related promotional items by following JTI procurement policies and ensuring the goods are delivered to the warehouses and the quality of goods meets JTI standards.

    • Any ad hoc projects assigned by senior management regarding company requirements.

  • Program Execution - Trade Activations:

    • Support trade program execution and report trade engagement program outcomes. The incumbent is required to assist in the smooth on-ground execution of various sell-in/sell-out Programs, Trade Events, and other tailored programs targeted at key retailers across channels.

    • The incumbent is required to run data analysis for ongoing trade activation programs monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Daily, and weekly sales performance analysis and competitor tracking, analysis and reporting.

  • Cross-Functional Communication and Reporting:

    • It is critical to collaborate with key partners (Brand, FM, Sales, Distributor management) and the field force. As an activation associate, this position is also intended to support all field-driven programs and serve as a liaison marketing and the field.

    • Regular follow-up partners to meet the timeline of trade activations, and internal and external communication is required.

    • Essential to the role is accountability to their projects which will be demonstrated to not just measuring results but also reporting and sharing these reportings cross functionally.                                                                                                                                                                 

    • It is necessary to perform data analysis for ongoing trade activation programs monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Daily, and weekly sales performance analysis and competitor tracking, analysis and reporting. Back office support and facilitate communication within cross functions.

  • Budget tracking and Compliance procedure:

    As a trade activations associate, they will support the management of the biggest marketing expenditures of JTI. With this, it is critical that the incumbent not just supports project spend vs. their potential returns but also ensures that their projects are aligned with the JTI operating guidelines and the local processes of JTI Myanmar. Assist in trade budget usage tracking and assist in report production.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR - REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in marketing or related field.

  • Experience in Below-the-Line activations in other FMCG companies for 3-5 years. It will be a plus to have previous experience that is process-oriented and highly involves other functions and third-party vendors.

  • Must have good marketing or sales back office experience exhibiting traits of excellent project management and getting things done in accordance with a timeline.

  • Data Analysis, sales operations, and reading experience are a plus.

  • Fluency in both English and Burmese. Fluency in business writing is a plus

  • Competence in MS Office Applications is a must
