SAP BI Developer

What this role is about?

The SAP BI Development team, within the Global Development Center, defines and implements the corporate SAP Analytical strategy and approach; the team plans, directs, and manages the analysis, design, implementation, and support of global planning and reporting (analytics) SAP applications.

Within this team, and reporting to the SDC BI Development Manager position, an employee has the responsibility to design and deliver SAP BI/Analytical global applications (SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud solution) to support better business decision-making.

What will you do – responsibilities:

Technical and Process Expertise

• Support the business requirements gathering and analysis
• Map of functional requirements & capabilities to technical solution design
• Propose optimal technical solutions to fulfill user requests or fix problems.
• Proactively propose improvements to the configuration, de-customization, automation
• Own and actively share development best practices.

• Support Business Technology Services with end-user training (train the trainer)

System Configuration and Development

• Support technical design, development, and unit testing, and production deployment
• Ensure that the solution is aligned with the agreed business process design, functional design and with best practices, and JTI architecture standards
• Transport changes between environments, support user testing, fine-tune the solution based on testing feedback
• Ensure consistency & standardization of the applications
• Ensure that required system documentation is completed and delivered before Go-Live

Issue Resolution and Operational Support

• Provide timely technical support for issue resolution including UAT and Post Go-Live support, including data maintenance and user access administration. Work with end users and other support teams and the vendor if required
• Closely collaborate with BTS or external vendors

Business Partnership Tasks

• Communicate timely on the project progress related to developments in assigned areas; manage the processes of requests, approval, specifications, development, documentation, and unit testing
• Develop relationships with customers to understand their needs and priorities and deliver timely and quality solutions to users by researching the business processes supported

Innovation

• Stay abreast of trends and new capabilities of the BI platform

• Proactively analyze technology trends & JTI business demand to identify upcoming opportunities

What are we looking for?

• University degree in computer science or equivalent apprenticeship
• Fluent English
• SAP/other professional certificates are a plus
• 3-5+ years of IT experience and broad knowledge in different areas
• 3 years of proven experience in development with SAP BI tools, BW, SAC, AFO, etc.
• 3 years of experience with the analysis of user requirements
• Experience with other BI tools (e.g. Front-end design principles, etc.) is a plus
• Experience with ABAP development is a must                                                                        
• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (reporting/planning) is a big plus.
• Experience with embedded analytics (CDS) is a plus
• Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus
• Experience with HANA SQL scripting development is a plus
• Experience with BPC and Fox scripting is a plus
• Experience in functional areas is a big plus
