 Consumer Data Activation Manager

 

 

What this position is about – Purpose

 

The Consumer Data Activation Manager plays a key role in leveraging data-driven strategies within the Marketing & Sales (M&S) B2C function to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and business impact.

As a Data Product Owner, you will be responsible for developing and evolving data products that drive JTI M&S to the next level. This role requires a combination of business acumen, analytical expertise, and problem-solving skills to maximize the value of data.

Additionally, you will stay up to date with data industry trends, advising organizational leaders on necessary changes. Working alongside the Team Manager, you will ensure data accuracy and strategy alignment, transforming data into valuable assets for analysis and advanced analytics use cases.

You will collaborate with M&S business functions to identify data opportunities, enhance analytics capabilities, and provide actionable insights and recommendations.

 

What will you do? Responsibilities:

 

Data Activation & Strategy Development

  • Identify data opportunities within M&S B2C processes to drive efficiency and business growth.
  • Leverage analytics to uncover patterns, generate insights, and measure the success and impact of analytics projects against business KPIs.
  • Maximize the value of existing data sources and identify new data opportunities that could add value to the M&S organization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with the Data & Analytics team to:
    • Support the KPI framework definition across digital touchpoints.
    • Assist the Team Manager in identifying key areas for analysis and knowledge development.
    • Conduct fit-gap analyses in data sources, models, and platforms to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure the flawless execution of M&S data programs.
  • Ensure all programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Own and manage data products within M&S, ensuring continuous improvement and evolution.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and cost using appropriate methodologies.
  • Ensure optimal resource availability and allocation to meet business objectives.

Data Evaluation & Governance

  • Work with business functions, data analysts, and data strategists to identify and propose data-driven opportunities.
  • Assess the availability and relevance of internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection methods.
  • Collaborate with the M&S function to select relevant data sources and ensure data accuracy.
  • Translate functional needs into technical specifications for the Data Platform and Operations team, ensuring business objectives are met.
  • Work alongside the Master Data and Data Quality team to uphold data quality standards within specific initiatives.
  • Define data validity, relevance, and relationships to ensure meaningful analysis.

Training & Enablement

  • Educate key business leaders on data-driven use cases, agile methodologies, hypothesis testing, and statistical validation.
  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making, ensuring organizational buy-in.
  • Provide business metrics to demonstrate the impact and success of data initiatives.
  • Support business functions in developing training programs to enable end users of data products.

 

Who are we looking for – Requirements:

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Marketing & Sales, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven industry experience in data analysis and insights generation within the M&S domain.
  • Strong experience in project management, with a track record of successful execution.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data from multiple sources to solve business challenges.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Passion for challenging data problems, questioning interpretations, and uncovering meaningful insights.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to apply data storytelling to drive clear and practical business impact.
  • Strong ability to present findings to both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data mining techniques to uncover patterns and trends from large datasets.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data modeling, and analytics frameworks.

Soft Skills & Communication

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking, anticipating the implications of data-driven decisions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a curious and innovative approach to data challenges.
  • Languages & Computer Skills
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, ideally with reporting tools such as Power BI/Tableau, as well as web analytics.
  • Knowledge of major big data storage/data platforms (e.g., Data Lake).
