To strengthen our team in Global Indirect Procurement, we are looking for a Category Manager Services (m/f/d) in permanent employment.

 

Your job mission:

We are looking for a driven and skilled professional to manage procurement activities for assigned categories within our Germany, Switzerland, Austria Cluster, translating category strategies into actionable plans and ensuring seamless execution. This role involves close collaboration with the Cluster Category Manager to align on strategic initiatives, financial planning, and cost optimization efforts. The successful candidate will be accountable for identifying and managing local and cluster suppliers, negotiating contracts, and fostering effective supplier relationships to secure optimal supply conditions. Additionally, you will also ensure alignment with business stakeholders, driving the development and implementation of innovative and sustainable sourcing strategies. This includes regular interactions with global and local procurement teams, as well as maintaining compliance with JTI's standards, are essential components of this position. The candidate will also apply market intelligence to identify opportunities and trends, contributing to the continuous improvement of our procurement processes.

Your tasks:

  • Oversee procurement activities for assigned sub-categories and implement strategies as defined by the Cluster Category Manager
  • Manage and monitor the local supplier pool and negotiate strategic contracts to secure sustainable supply conditions
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans and lead supplier bidding processes
  • Prevent procurement inefficiencies and manage supplier relationships throughout the supply chain
  • Foster collaborative business partnerships with stakeholders and develop a customer-oriented approach to demonstrate the value of business partnerships
  • Share category intelligence and identify trends and opportunities
  • Apply best practices in procurement management, conduct supply risk assessments and build contingency plans
  • Participate in financial planning and drive cost optimization and support the development of cluster procurement plans
  • Secure favorable conditions for JTI through market screening and innovative sourcing

 

Your profile:

  • Relevant educational background: University degree in Business Administration or comparable education
  • Practical experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the Procurement environment, preferably in a multinational company
  • Valuable knowledge: Financial analysis / Business environment knowledge / MS Office and SAP / Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Special strengths: Strategic thinking / Leadership skills with proven experience managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Suitable personality: Effective negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills / Management of internal and external parties / Decision making skills
