To strengthen our team in the area of New Process Technology (NPT) Department at the Trier plant, we are looking for a New Process Technology Manager in R&D (m/f/d) in permanent employment.
Your Job Mission:
As New Process Technology Manager at our NPT team , you are at the forefront of fundamental research to develop innovative processes that drive new product propositions while ensuring compliance with current and future regulations for Reduced Risk Products (RRP) and Conventional Products (CP). Your role focuses on pioneering new tobacco treatment processes for future products and facilitating the seamless knowledge transfer needed to scale up these processes from lab scale to pilot scale at the Product Technology Center (PTC). Through close collaboration with global teams, strategic planning, and execution of trials, you will ensure smooth process transitions, empower our technical teams, and contribute to excellence in product quality and process efficiency.

Your tasks:
- Initiation of research and development projects to devise new tobacco and non-tobacco treatment processes for future products
- Technology scouting and collaboration with internal and external development teams worldwide to drive these research projects
- Planning, preparation, and execution of trials at the Product Technology Center. Close cooperation with external suppliers for technology evaluation, as well as analysis and interpretation of trial results
- Definition of process specifications for newly developed processes to ensure top product quality
- Support of technical teams in scaling up processes from lab to full production scale. Developing and implementing new quality control procedures
Your profile:
- Relevant educational background: University degree (Bachelor or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Technical Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or equivalent education
- Practical experience: At least 5 years of business practice in FMCG industry or Tobacco Industry in an international environment
- Valuable knowledge: Knowledge of tobacco primary processing as well as experience in fundamental research and development projects is preferable.
- Special strengths: Fluent in English, both written and spoken; any additional foreign language is a plus, sound knowledge in the most common software applications.
- Suitable personality: Ingenuity and unconventional thinking, Superior management and communication skills, as well as team-oriented mindset.
