WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT?

 

The Modern Trade Strategy team is mainly responsible for the formulation and execution of the KA channel strategy, which protects JTI's channel competitiveness. The position will involve cross-functional collaboration with various functions i.e. Marketing group (brand & merchandising team), Legal, GIP/PO, Budget/Finance, Supply & Channel planning team to ensure that all consumer/trade-related initiatives adhere to the brand guidelines and respective campaigns of JTI. This supports the establishment and development of consumer and trade activity strategies that ensure efficient execution and translation in line with company's brand goals, priorities, and regulation. 

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

 

Channel Strategy

  • Provide support in defining the role of each channel, translating, and activating all top-down Modern Trade initiatives with the goal of boosting brand equity and consumer acquisition. This will be achieved through an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of brand objectives and channels.
  • Support in translating and implementing significant MT strategies and plans, ensuring that all activities adhere to brand equity, global mandates, and marketing objectives. Leverage a viable knowledge of key channel dynamics and consumer engagement principles to amplify the brand's impact and efficacy in a manner that cohesively integrates with the total brand plans.
  • Provide full support to Modern Trade group in terms of promotional & trade activities, merchandising (POSM) materials and premium items ensuring efficient and consistent execution while being compliant to brand guidelines and mandatories.

 

Activation and Planning

  • Work in close collaboration with Marketing group, Legal, GIP, Finance/Budget, Channel-planning, & Supply team in establishing a structure that will align and prioritize brand strategies i.e. trade events, product launches, & consumer activation
  • Support & manages provided budget according to priorities and business targets. Determines the proper allocation of funds of the assigned project/ top-down activities to achieve objectives in the most cost-efficient manner.
  • Responsible in consolidation of data across KA and forecasting where necessary. Maintaining the KA database (outlet universe, KA merchandising assets, etc.) and responsible to ensure integration with JTI's internal system.
  • Perform necessary administration in accordance with the Company’s requirements, maintain & secured required documentation, timely reporting & submission of information where relevant.

 

Strategic Initiatives & Projects

  • Engage in the analysis of trade-related data and obtain significant insights that will support strategic trade decision-making processes, i.e. Planogram/Merchandising strategy, & effective consumer-centric promo
  • Active collaboration and support implementation of any identified initiatives, internal business improvement process to drive Modern Trade channel growth.
  • Support in formulating strategies and plans to facilitate the top-down approach in planning, forecasting, and execution activities via the provision of guidelines & data analytical support.

 

External Partner Engagement

  • Responsible in engaging and managing the third party agencies to ensure timely, efficient and effective execution of all programs & activities.
  • Engage with GIP/PPO and TPA to provide all project requirements needed while being compliant to brand guidelines and mandatories. Challenges partner agencies to drive innovation and develop best-in-class output through strategic discussions/planning.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

  • University degree or equivalent (Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Statistics or relevant degree)
  • With solid background from an FMCG company at least 2 years’ strong experience in Account/Channel Management, & Marketing role i.e. merchandising, consumer activation & trade events
  • Project Management – ensuring that each program's objectives are met, within budget and executed based on agreed timeline. Must be willing to take calculated risks, make assessment and recommend solutions to problems arising from program/s
  • Data Analysis – ensure that all necessary data collected are assimilated to establish insights, draw conclusions and find solutions that can further enhance ongoing/future programs and help boost company's performance
  • Presentation Skills – high self confidence in presenting to a large crowd, higher management while ensuring that the message is delivered across clearly and effectively
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
