IWS Regional Director
WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT - PURPOSE:
Responsible to develop and drive IWS (Integrated Work System) strategy for the region, ensuring the consolidated capability plans are in place to eliminate losses towards achieving the regional targets. This position is accountable for the tracking and improvement of IWS phase progression plan of the Region calibrating regional and site leadership IWS knowledge and standards across the sites. Contributes to the creation and improvement of global standards and accelerate reapplication of approaches and techniques globally while assuring standard use of tools. This position is a member of the Regional Supply Chain leadership team, contributing to the overall GSC (Global Supply Chain) strategy development.
WHAT WILL YOU DO - RESPONSIBILITIES:
- SET REGIONAL IWS STRATEGY
- Collaborate with Regional VPs, Directors, and site IWS Leaders to facilitate year over year growth and operational improvement through the development, and execution of business initiatives and strategic continuous improvement plans
- Design and drive IWS strategy for the region, ensuring the consolidated capability plans are in place to eliminate losses in alignment to GSC IWS strategy.
- Develop capability in leadership teams (site and regional) and especially in the site IWS managers whom they qualify.
- CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF IWS PLANS
- Implement regional and site specific strategic KPI's and measurement systems to determine manufacturing performance and capabilities
- Lead PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) drumbeat with site teams to ensure continuous tracking and support to factory capability plan. Identify improvement opportunities and provide feedback to leadership teams that cause them to take action.
- Ensure calibrated phase assessments are done in all sites across the region as needed
- Establish regular visit to sites (several times a year) for better capability tracking, support and calibration.
- ACCELERATE PERFORMANCE & REAPPLICATION
- This position is accountable for the tracking and improvement of IWS phase progression plan of the Region calibrating regional and site leadership IWS knowledge and standards across the sites.
- Directly manage strategic loss analysis improvement projects to drive improvement in process metrics, targeted financial benefits and upgrading of company supporting systems.
- Capture and disseminate current Best Practices worthy of reapplication.
- Calibrate with other Regional IWS leads to accelerate improvements
- SHAPE IWS ZERO LOSS CULTURE
- Coach Leaders across the Region in IWS mindset and methodologies
- Diagnose activities and identify technical know-how and organization behaviors that are barriers to IWS implementation.
- Role model servant leadership to influence proper leadership behaviors
- GLOBAL CAPABILITY BUILDING
- Work closely with Global Pillar Members to assure standard application of their pillar capabilities.
- Own one or more Global IWS systems, this includes developing, improving, maintaining or peer reviewing content as required.
- Be qualified in at least 2 Pillars and all IWS DMSs (Daily Management Systems) and ensure qualification of Local IWS Leads.
- As Global IWS expert, contribute to the creation and improvement of global standards
- Network with external organizations to keep abreast of what's going outside our own business
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR - REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor's degree holder in any relevant course. Work experience takes precedence over any specific academic/professional qualifications.
- With at least 10 years of experience from a manufacturing environment handling production operation, supply chain management and manufacturing excellence.
- At least 5 years relevant experience as IWS (Integrated Work System) Lead or experience as a Master Capability Lead, Supply Chain Lead in previous employment.
- Knowledgeable of IWS Systems and standards. Technical skills in each pillar (fundamental skills in all pillars, in-depth skills in at least two pillars, minimum of level 3 qualification in UPS, VSM, HPO. and DDS including RTT.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members to enhance individual and collective performance.
- Ability to identify gaps or inefficiencies within processes, workflows, or team dynamics, and proactively develop and implement solutions to address challenges.
- Skilled communicator who can tailor messages for various audiences, from frontline employees to senior executives. Comfortable presenting to different levels within the organization and adjusting communication style as needed.
- Strong ability to influence senior leadership, including plant managers, directors, and regional VPs. Capable of gaining buy-in and support for initiatives while driving alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Ability to think strategically and translate high-level business objectives into actionable plans. Understands how to drive both short-term and long-term results while maintaining a focus on organizational priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues at all levels. Skilled in influencing, motivating, and engaging diverse teams, including plant managers, directors, and regional VPs.
- Ability to give clear, constructive feedback while maintaining assertiveness when addressing performance challenges. A strong communicator who can provide guidance and support while ensuring accountability.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrates strong follow-up and follow-through, ensuring timely and successful completion of initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in collaborating with colleagues from diverse functions to ensure alignment and effective execution of initiatives.
- Earns respect from frontline employees through hands-on engagement and a deep understanding of the work being done. Demonstrates credibility and commitment to the team by being present on the floor and involved in day-to-day operations.
- Comfortable confronting difficult issues and taking assertive actions when necessary, while maintaining a supportive approach.
