Global Software Management (GSM) Manager - Team Lead

 

The Global Software Management team (GSM) provides JTI business with standardized, modern, flexible and cost-efficient IT client platform (PCs, smartphones, tablets, virtual PCs) based on the best combination of hardware, operating system, productivity tools (eg. MS365 Apps) and JTI line of business applications. The team provides 3rd level support for all digital workplace related issues and manages technical escalations to vendors.

 

The incumbent is part of GSM team. He/she is responsible for the following:

  • Define and implement the optimal deployment approach for all software packages, updates & new images requested from and provided by GSM & Desktop and Mobile Solutions groups.
  • Ensure smooth ongoing roll-out of requested global and local business applications throughout JTI markets.
  • Manage the rollout of regular (monthly) security updates for all JTI workstations worldwide including mobile TME workstations
  • Submit, manage and approve GSM related client software change requests in line with Software and Security Update Procedures.
  • Provide necessary compliance reporting on software packages and security updates deployment status 
  • Ensure up to date status and correct functioning of antivirus client software for all JTI workstations worldwide
  • Ensure smooth roll-out of regular OS feature upgrades
  • Manage the on-going Mobile Device Management operations
  • Ensure the on-going maintenance of VDI Virtual Machines in scope of GSM responsibilities
  • Manage the group of GSM Managers based in GBS Manila, Philippines office to ensure fulfilment of above mentioned tasks

 

He / she will be involved in providing JTI markets and factories worldwide with high quality client software management services to answer the changing business requirements and needs. The incumbent will work in tight cooperation with other groups inside Global Technical Center: DMS, ICS, NCC teams, Global Service Desk and Market & Factory IT teams. The incumbent is responsible to stay abreast of evolving technology and keep management aware of new trends and technology and how it could be incorporated as part of the global software management framework. 
 

What will you do?

 

  • Manage the group of GSM team members based in GBS Manila, Philippines and ensure the efficient teamwork that have to meet the established GSM services quality standards and related KPIs.  
  • Define and implement the optimal deployment approach for all software packages, updates & new images deployment /roll-out requested from and provided by both GSM Desktop and Mobile Solutions (DMS) teams.
  • Manage the rollout of regular (monthly) security updates for all JTI workstations worldwide including mobile TME workstations.  
  • Submit, manage and approve GSM related client software change requests in line with Software and Security Update Procedures. Provide necessary compliance reporting on software packages and security updates deployment status.
  • Manage the on-going Mobile Device Management operations and maintenance
  • Manage the on-going maintenance of VDI Virtual Machines in scope of GSM responsibilities
  • Ensure up to date status and correct functioning of antivirus client software for all JTI workstations worldwide. Manage consultant resources to ensure fulfilment of above mentioned tasks
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and proficiency in order to constantly improve quality of work and promote innovation.


Who are we looking for?

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related fields
  • Solid IT technical background (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent work experience, Network & Telecommunications). 
  • Experience with implementing complex enterprise IT technical solutions; Microsoft Systems Management Server experience. Experience in wide-scale software deployment and management in global multinational environment.
  • Microsoft client & server environments, Windows 11 / Microsoft Intune / System Center Configuration Manager /  Software Update Services / Microsoft Active Directory / Software packaging and deployment techniques / Defender antivirus / Workplace Monitoring tools / Application architecture basics
  • Strong project management and people management skills.
  • Negotiation and communication skills. Understanding of the business value of IT in a Manufacturing/Sales organization.
