GBS Intercompany Team Lead

 

This role is responsible for:

 

Managuing the Intercompany team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Intercompany services in scope, in full compliance with Corporate policies and procedures and with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). That includes:


a) management of end-to-end I/C processes from the data collection to posting initiation, reconciliation and reporting
b) manage period end close for the intercompany process, ensure that activities are performed in line with closing calendar including support on intercompany elimination checks impacting group consolidation
c) support transfer price calculation and data maintenance in SAP based on pre-agreed methodology

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

1.) Core Service Delivery

 

Manage team of specialists and experts to deliver efficient and effective I/C services across JTI in full compliance with corporate policies and procedures and entity statutory / tax / legal requirements defined in Service Level Agreements. That includes the following:


a) processing of accounting entries, data checks, period-end close activities, consolidation data checks, etc
b) intercompany transfer price calculation, validation process as per agreed principles and master data submission
c) collaborate with internal and external auditors, provide all requested comments and clarifications as required

 

2.) Managing Team Performance

 

  • Monitor the established targets, service metrics and KPIs with the team and ensure proper performance management process is being followed
  • Drive process improvement within the team
  • Ensure sustainability of service delivery via maintenance of proper handover process and back up system
  • Strive to achieve the desired result first time
  • Initiate engagement activities to maintain team motivation

 

3.) Managing Team Development

 

  • Take a leading role in team member's development;
  • Plan employees development in line with their personal and professional skills and career aspirations. Monitor the development progress and make necessary corrections;
  • Be a coach in developing employees' professional skills and competencies, support them in achieving established development goals;
  • Provide constructive feedback on a regular basis, and encourage team members to provide feedback to the manager.

 

4.) Relationships

 

  • Actively build and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders from markets and corporate functions
  • Demonstrate business partnership and customer centricity and embed this within the team

 

5.) Controls and Compliance

 

  • Ensure that operational controls are properly executed by the team
  • Escalate major operational failures and ensure mitigating actions are in place for each failure. 
  • Ensure regular review and update of process documentation

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Higher education in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, CIMA, ACCA) is desirable
  • At least 4 years of experience in accounting / financial reporting in a large multi-national organization, with international experience preferred
  • SAP FI/CO knowledge is preferred
  • Experience in a shared service environment preferred, with experience of transitioning activities to a shared service center a plus
  • Audit experience is desirableAt least 1 year's experience of managing a team
  • Be open minded, positive thinking and see the opportunities for change
  • Flexible attitude and quickly reacts and adapts to changing requirements
  • SAP experience
  • IFRS knowedge and strong understanding of JTI IFRS reporting requirements, including the end to end for intercompany
  • Fluent in English
