Desktop and Mobility Solutions Architect

 

Desktop and Mobility Solutions team (DMS) designs and provides JT/JTI group of companies  with standardized, modern, flexible and cost-efficient IT client platform (PCs, smartphones, tablets, virtual PCs) based on the best combination of hardware, operating system, productivity tools (eg. Microsoft Office), cloud components and JT/JTI line of business applications.

 

  • The incumbent is responsible for designing, testing and implementing JT/JTI global technical workplace and mobility solutions and defining the relevant standards. This also includes operating system standards; Virtual Desktop; packaged business client software; workplace image and distrubution tools and Mobile Device Management platform.
  • They will be required to work closely with software and hardware vendors to implement and maintain all required technical solutions.
  • It will also be required to work closely with other teams inside I&O Center, Global Service Desk, BTS, IT Security, MMDC, Market and Factory IT and JT IT to make sure all solutions meets JT/JTI needs in security, performance and functional levels.
  • They must be able to manage complex projects, working either independently, or with other people inside or outside of the team.
  • The person will work within the team which gives 3rd level support for all workplace and mobility architecture related issues, which may include escalation to JT/JTI's 3rd party suppliers when required.

 

What you will do?

 

1. Design and Project Implementations

  • Define and manage the implementation of JT/JTI global workplace and mobility standards based on the latest technologies, security standards and ergonomic approach in order to optimize end-user productivity, performance and ease of use.
  • Manage the design, creation and maintenance of JTI workplace software images and ensure the hardware platform meets JT/JTI business requirements.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain secure and efficient architecture for iOS and Android mobile devices management with in-house and cloud MDM platforms and technologies in line with business requirements.
  • Work with GSD to make sure they are up to date with the latest workplace and mobility solutions being deployed in JT/JTI, and they are supporting them in the most efficient way. 
  • Create and maintain corresponding OCM requests.
  • Coordinate project activities with the other Global & local IT teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with hardware / software vendors, and internal JT/JTI technical groups, to define and constantly keep up to date the needs of the corporate workplace image and digital mobility solutions.

2. Operational Support

  • Provide 3rd level support regarding workplace and digital mobility related incidents
  • When ever required, raise and manage support incidents with 3rd party suppliers
  • Follow JTI procedures related to incident and problem management

3. Custom solutions: TME, QIMS, etc.:

  • Lead and support the development and maintenance of customized client hardware and software configurations and software packages to address specific business needs (TME, QIMS, Leaf). 

4. App Deployment

  • Work with MMDC and other global and local in house app developers to support them in deploying the most efficient apps deployment architecture which answer the JT/JTI business needs.
  • Continually review new technologies and solutions which will support app development in JT/JTI

5. Innovation

  • Constantly look for areas of improvement in JT/JTI desktop and mobility architecture and solutions in order to  better address the evolving business needs.

6. Collaboration

  • Work in close cooperation with and provide necessary support to global and local IT teams, and IT management. 

7. Security and Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with IT Security standards within new technologies deployment in projects led by the group or by means of reviewing OCM requests and Infrastructure Changes. Insure that safe and reliable solutions are deployed within projects led by the group.

8. Personal development

  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and proficiency in order to constantly improve quality of work and promote innovation. 
  • Maintain a high level of project management skills


Who are we looking for?

 

  • University Degree in the area of Computer sciences or related field.
  • Solid IT technical background (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent work experience)
  • Deep expertise working with Microsoft client OS (Windows 10), Office System (Client and Server sides), desktop virtualization technologies, deployment tools (SCCM, Intune), Apple and Android devices in a corporate environment, cloud technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience of managing and implementing complex enterprise workplace or mobility technical solutions.
  • Proven experience working with software packaging; desktop virtualisation; mobile device management solutions.
  • Solid project management experience
  • Fluent English (speaking & written)
