Accounts Payable Expert (Temporary)

 

The Master Data Specialist ensures accurate, compliant, and timely execution of daily operational activities across key master data domains particularly on vendor and customer master data. The role focuses on validating inputs, maintaining data integrity, and adhering to established compliance and operational controls (including JSOX). The Specialist is expected to manage high volumes of requests with precision, collaborate closely with Global Data Services, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

 

As the Accounts Payable Expert in JTI GBS Manila you will:

 

  • Oversee and support end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of invoices and related transactions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for AP process, system, and business-related topics.
  • Coordinate workflow allocation, monitor service levels, and support the smooth day-to-day operations of the AP team.
  • Prepare and review AP reports, reconciliations, analyses, and month-end activities to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, automation, and service delivery.
  • Execute and monitor compliance activities, including JSOX controls, payrun checks, internal controls, and policy adherence.
  • Maintain AP process documentation, user guides, and operational procedures to ensure consistency and effective knowledge management.
  • Coach and support AP Specialists by providing technical guidance, knowledge sharing, onboarding support, and process training.
  • Partner with markets, entities, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, improve customer experience, and provide expert advice on AP-related matters.
  • Support local and global projects, change initiatives, and other ad hoc activities as required.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Finance Operations, Shared Services, or a similar finance environment.
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes, accounting principles, and financial controls.
  • Hands-on experience working with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, JSOX, internal controls, and compliance requirements is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Experience preparing reports, performing reconciliations, and supporting audit activities.
  • Ability to coach, guide, and support junior team members while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
