Accounting & Reporting Specialist
The Accounting & Reporting team supports JTI entities with various IFRS and local statutory accounting activities. These include preparing and submitting accruals, fixed asset and GL account master data maintenance requests, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, entity trial balance reviews, quarterly IFRS reporting, tax packages, statutory reporting, VAT return data validation, and annual reports like CBCR and JCFC. The team collaborates with finance colleagues globally to achieve this.
As the Accounting and Reporting Specialist for Accounting & Finance in GBS Manila, you will:
- Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and quarterly group reports in accordance with IFRS, agreed market principles, and SLAs
- Support annual statutory audits and financial statement preparation in close collaboration with market teams
- Maintain and update process documentation (user manuals and process flows) and support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities
- Drive continuous improvement by meeting operational KPIs, enhancing SAP/accounting/tax knowledge, and supporting process optimization initiatives
- Execute assigned JSOX and operational controls, escalating control failures and ensuring timely mitigation actions
- Partner with market/factory finance teams and internal stakeholders, support ad hoc requests, contribute to local/global projects, and assist in training and supporting team members
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance; professional certification (CPA or equivalent) is an advantage
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance/accounting or external audit, with financial reporting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles (intercompany, fixed assets, inventories, leases, AR/AP, accruals) and financial reporting (financial statements, reconciliations, management reporting)
- Experience supporting internal and external audits (including tax and statutory audits); working knowledge of IFRS, Tax, and SOX compliance
- Proficient in SAP and Blackline (preferred) and Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate Excel skills required; shared services or system migration experience is a plus
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal); analytical, detail‑oriented, and results‑driven, able to work independently and collaboratively with a proactive and positive mindset across regional markets
