Title:  Strategic Data Analytics Manager

[Position Purpose]

• Manage GIS/consumer/brands insight related projects, post-deployment management, activities and internal/external/spatial data governance and customization

• Develop data-driven consumer targeting strategy rules/models based on various internal/external data including spatial statistical data 

• Build insights from multiple data sources such as data from consumer/trade/spatial and internal data for portfolio/activation (area profile, hotspots, GIS Segmentation/targeting/positioning) and JTI business (consumer/company/competitor)

• Manage business data/system/tools and facilitate the development and implementation of a communication plan to end-users regarding completed system and business analytic deliverables

• Cross-functional initiatives and support on data/system/insights (Strategic Insight, Brands, Activation, Micro Marketing and Sales)

• Manage both GIS/Consumer data agency to manage projects and analysis supports are met as required

 

[Responsibility]

  1. GIS (Geographical Information Systems) Analysis & Projects
    • Manage GIS projects and perform Project activities in technical/insight areas
    • Gather business requirements from Business Owners to determine project feasibility
    • Provide on-going support and training to Business Owners
    • Ensure consistency in terms of data and format across the analysis platform
    • Data validation and functional tests
  2. Strategic Data Insight Analysis & Projects
    • Support the implementation of new analysis/report/data to meet company requirements in terms of market/industry, consumer, channel, trade
    • Ensure consistency in terms of data and format across the analysis platform
    • Data validation and functional tests
    • Ad-hoc Analysis and follow up with vendor based on business requirements
  3.  Data Governance Management
    • Manage the spatial data in geo-database with related tools to utilize the data and tools for company including data relationship between external and internal data
    • Ensure consistency and efficiency in terms of usage for data & tools
    • Ad-hoc data & system support based on business requirements
  4. Documentation Development
    • Create the detailed functional designs of the new GIS analysis
    • Maintain a local Data Dictionary updated over time
    • Training materials adapted to the different users profiles (power users vs. end users)
  5. Issues Tracking, Investigation & Fix 
    • Provide end users with the required level of support in all analytics related topics
  6. Support on micro level of brand, activation, micro marketing and sales teams to determine new opportunities to communicate our brands in line with JTI direction in terms of channel, area and trade/consumer including spatial data analysis/tools/data

 

[Requirements]

Work & Key Experiences

  • 5+ years of experience with data analytical techniques including spatial modeling
  • Relevant experience using current GIS technologies with spatial analysis and big data analysis (i.e. arcGIS or Mapinfo, Python or SAS or R)
  • Previous working experience with data analysis design and data modeling (ie. Regression Model, Classification/Cluster, AI Machine Learning)
  • Experience integrating software solutions with other business system including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP and analytics platforms would be plus
  • Sense of commercial/brands/consumer awareness

 

Language & Computer Skills

  • Fluency in English is a core requirment
  • Strong understanding of database structure and design
  • Ability to query databases using SQL programming language
  • Proficiency in MS products with focus on Access and Excel

 

Education

  • Four year college degree or equivalent apprenticeship in GIS or Urban Planning, Statistics, MIS or a related data analysis field
