Brand Manager


The incumbent will join a dynamic and fast paced environment, working closely with the Portfolio Marketing Manager and brand team to generate strategies to enhance brand equity, grow share of market and improve consumer engagement and drive growth to overall JTI Korea business. He / she will be responsible for the stewardship of brand equity and communication strategies within the JTI portfolio whilst constantly identify consumer insights and deliver innovative marketing campaigns which includes the development of packaging,  communication touchpoints, programs and point of sale materials. He / she will be the brand custodian for existing and new brand launches, in regular contact with JTI global brand management, global / local agencies and work closely to collaborate with other Marketing & Sales members (local, region and global) to ensure consistency of brand equity and implementation of brand strategies.


What will you do?


  • Drive the development of marketing mix, including new product, new pack, communication and trade programs to ensure alignment to brand positioning and continuously strengthen brand equity. This includes but not limited to development of the brand portfolio, pricing, trade and distribution strategies based on global guidelines, better practices and market dynamics in order to maximize portfolio / brand performance and ROI, monitoring performance and suggesting improvement actions.


  • Monitor and analyse consumer trend in the market and develop strategies to ensure brand remains competitive. Ensure sound analysis of consumer, shopper, competitive and trade data. Seek innovative ways to improve brand's performance in all elements of product and packaging, including identification of new / innovative ways to enhance brand marketing capabilities and become more proactive and anticipatory.

  • Provide all the necessary input on brand strategies for the ASP, as well as act as the main liaison between the different M&S groups on delivering the plan to Marketing and local Management team. Work in close collaboration with the respective managers of the marketing and sales team in order to ensure alignment and integration of activities.

  • Define annual investment allocation and provide input to the Marketing team on best spending opportunities. Manage the investment approval process (BAP/MEMO) as well as portfolio / brand P&L and resource allocation.

  • Responsible for all contact with global / local agency and management of projects contracted to the agencies. Manage timelines and negotiate communication budgets allocated to the agencies. Make annual assessments of the agencies' performance and take corrective actions if necessary.


Who are we looking for?


  • High standard of university degree
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience working in FMCG marketing and sales functions
  • Good understanding of full marketing mix. Proven ability to develop brand and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to management.
  • Broad understanding of the commercial aspects impacting brand performance
  • Has strong agency and project management skills.
  • Strong team player, prioritizing brand performance over individual preferences
  • Highly creative with ability to think out of the box
  • Fluent written and spoken Korean and English is essential in combination with strong communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Knowledge and familiarity with SAP
  • Business acumen and excellent ability to adapt and adjust to change.
