Modern Trade Specialist 

 

The Modern Trade Specialist is responsible for the development of and partnership with strategic KA and wholesale chain customers within assigned territory to ensure JTI’s competitiveness within channel. Collaborate closely with rest of Commercial Business Unit (CBU) members to identify areas of opportunities and formulate action plans to grow channel performance.

 

As the Modern Trade Specialist:

 

1) Channel Development

  • Responsible in the development of strategic retail and wholesale accounts in assigned territory to achieve Company's goals
  • Regular performance assessment of assigned accounts, and provide recommendations and business proposals to achieve Company's goals
  • Collaborate closely with wider Marketing & Sales team in identifying growth opportunities, and develop and implement initiatives to drive business growth (volume, range distribution, competitiveness) within assigned accounts

 

2) Channel Investment Efficiency

  • Ensure investment is in line with set targets of commercial delivery by line manager

 

3) Customer Partnership & Negotiation

  • Partnership management for strategic accounts in assigned territory
  • Lead non-trading term or long-term contract negotiation with strategic accounts in assigned territory to achieve set objectives
  • Execute and monitor joint account initiatives with strategic accounts in line with territorial objectives
  • Conduct regular business review with partnered accounts to drive overall business growth within Modern Trade channel

 

4) Operational Support

  • Constant collaboration with Area Sales Managers to address challenges faced in servicing of strategic accounts in assigned region
  • Assist with countering of invoices, collection of CWT and monitor AR management in DSO covered accounts
  • Engagement with 3rd party agency for correction of trade issues spotted by merchandizers in Modern Trade channel

 

5) Field Work

  • Conduct field work to stores of assigned accounts at frequency as determined by line manager to ensure satisfactory standards at POS level as per agreement with strategic accounts

 

Who are we looking for:

  • Education: University degree 
  • Work Experience: 
  1. Minimum 2 years experience in sales, channel management, account management and/or customer development
  2. Proven record in commercial, sales and negotiation skills
  • Language Skills: Can speak both English & Tagalog. 
  • Functional Skills 

            - Account / Channel Management

            - Basic Financial Acumen (ROI etc.)

            - Company and Business Knowledge

            - Strong Communication Skills

            - Effective Negotiation

            - Analytical Skills
