Data Analytics Manager – Head Office – Mississauga (12 months contract/12 months Development Assignment)

 

Position Purpose: 

 

JTI Macdonald Corp. is seeking a dedicated and motivated Data Analytics Manager with a strong proficiency in data modeling to join our dynamic team. As a Data Analytics Manager, you will play a critical role in the analysis and interpretation of complex datasets, ensuring accurate and efficient data modeling practices to drive informed business decisions. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams, including planning, field Sales, brand team, Excom, IT, and external data scientists, to find opportunities for data-driven insights and provide actionable recommendations.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models to support business requirements, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of data structures. 
  • Collaborate with partners to define data modeling objectives and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Use advanced analytical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within large datasets. 
  • Apply statistical methods and data visualization techniques to interpret findings and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Implement robust data validation and cleansing processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency. 
  • Perform data profiling and anomaly detection to identify and resolve data quality issues promptly.
  • Work closely with multi-functional teams to understand business needs, extract relevant data, and provide comprehensive analyses. 
  • Collaborate with planning, IT, and external data consultants to optimize data models and pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to present key findings and metrics to partners. 
  • Ensure data visualizations are intuitive, insightful, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Adhere to data governance standard processes, including data security, privacy, and compliance regulations. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and standard processes related to data modeling and analysis. 
  • Proactively find opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.


Required qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in data analysis, with a focus on data modeling, preferably in a fast-paced and data-driven environment.
  • Strong proficiency in data modeling techniques, including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView) to create intuitive and impactful visualizations.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data manipulation using programming languages such as Python or R is highly preferred. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Solid attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets while maintaining data integrity.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, data security, and privacy regulations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) is a plus.
