What this position is about:

 

The candidate plays a key role as part of the Regions Business Partner team, in delivering top-level corporate communications in line with the global strategy, annual plan and objectives, ensuring that our employees have a clear understanding of our company Purpose, Culture, and direction to reach JTI Vision 2030. 

 

This role focuses on serving as the dedicated strategic communications advisor for the Americas region, markets and the Regional President.

 

The position requires a good understanding of the business operating environment as well as the cultural diversity across the organization. In addition, the candidate must be able to develop and nurture strong interpersonal relationships with employees at all levels, including senior leaders, throughout the business. The candidate must have strong writing skills in English, be organized, and flexible.

Responsibilities:

  

  • Act as the main liaison between the Corporate Comms team, HQ functions, and the Americas regional team and markets
  • Proactively provide strategic comms guidance, expert knowledge, and creative solutions/ideas on internal and external communication/business priorities to the region and markets 
  • Give guidance to the region and markets on the correct use of JTI’s Corporate brand guideline and execution of the global initiatives, ensure that all internal and external communication is aligned with corporate narrative and messaging 
  • Prepare the regional communication plan and editorial calendar aligned with the region's annual objectives and priorities and monitor the progress in the plan to maximize the effectiveness and reach
  • Oversee the internal social media channel, Workplace, for the region and actively track and enhance engagement, promote the sharing of best practices among the Americas markets and other regions, work with the markets to identify gaps in communication capabilities, regularly provide strategic insights
  • Give media relations and crisis comms support to the markets in conjunction with the HQ Media Relations team
  • Prepare and manage the region’s comms budget and the entire PR-PO process to ensure projects remain on the budget

 

Support the Regional President on leadership communications:

 

  • Drive the leadership communication themes by bringing new ideas, tools, channels and timely content creation.  
  • Prepare for the Regional President and other senior leaders where relevant, the annual communication plan and calendar of activities in line with business and corporate communication priorities
  • Act as advisor and counsel to the Regional President and wider regional team on all internal and external communication matters

 

 

Who we are looking for – Requirements:

 

  • University diploma or equivalent, ideally in communications, journalism, marketing, branding, or a related field
  • 5 years experience in internal and/or external communications, marketing, or branding, as well as working in a multicultural environment
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English at a native level, other languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese) a plus
  • Excellent writing and storytelling ability
  • Excellent communication & diplomatic skills
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Strategic and creative thinking
  • Experience working with/managing external agencies
  • Budget and PO’s management experience
  • Strong business acumen
  • A nice to have - knowledge of basic designing tools (Canva, InDesign, Photoshop)
