Production Manager

 

The Production Manager is responsible for organizing and overseeing the operations of the assigned Business Unit to ensure optimal use of production capacity and the consistent delivery of high-quality products. This role serves as a key role model in promoting and applying the principles of the Integrated Work System (IWS), including a Zero Loss Mindset, Servant Leadership, and 100% Equipment Ownership. The manager ensures that these principles are not only understood but effectively implemented and sustained within the Business Unit, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across all processes.

 

As the Production Manager, you will:

  • Ensure effective management of the assigned Business Unit by maintaining full compliance with Integrated Work System (IWS) standards.

    • Drive the optimization of production processes and continuous improvement in efficiency, ensuring seamless production flow and the timely execution of production plans in line with quantity, quality, and cost targets.

  • Collaborate closely with Cell Leads to assess and develop capabilities within the Business Unit.

    • Identify ownership roles and support owners in capability development planning.

    • Actively participate in Daily Direction Settings (DDS), working hand-in-hand with DMS owners and IWS pillar leads to eliminate all forms of operational losses.

  • Deliver on ASP (Annual Strategic Plan) targets by aligning short- and long-term business unit goals with IWS tools and methodologies.

    • Oversee mid-term (<90-day) plans for Cells and contributes to the execution of key initiatives and improvement projects.

  • Lead and develop Cell Leads, fostering a high-performing team culture.

    • Conduct regular reviews, organizes and implements internal training programs, and ensures a pipeline of potential successors for critical roles. Provides consistent coaching to Cell Leads, reinforcing IWS principles and a zero-loss mindset.

  • Prepare detailed production reports and is accountable for meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

    • Participate in budget planning and reviews, ensuring efficient use of available resources.

    • Supports workforce planning and training in collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Understand the health and safety aspects of their role, including potential workplace hazards, and apply appropriate control measures to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

    • Continuously develop the necessary competencies to perform tasks safely.

    • Actively participate in health and safety training, acquire the required knowledge and qualifications, and adhere to all relevant safety signs, posters, warnings, and written instructions.

    • Be familiar with and comply with all applicable legal and JTI-specific health and safety requirements related to job-specific hazards and procedures.

 

Requirements:

  • Higher engineering/management education
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a production manager in FMCG or manufacturing companies
  • Experience in working in IWS Methodology is required
  • Experience with production processes optimalization
  • Knowledge of tobacco industry will be an additional advantage
