Internal Control Manager Angola & DRC
What this position is about – Purpose
This role ensures timely coordination of the local control self-assessment process with all respective leaders, identifying potential improvements and closing gaps. It also ensures that you obtain and maintain an excellent understanding of the main business processes. Have documented and reported the results of internal control tests to senior management so they can communicate gaps and weaknesses in process control in record time.
What Will You Do – Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting guidance in accordance with US GAAP and advise management and staff on complex or new accounting transactions and GAAP issues that may affect the company;
- Work as part of the Business Risk and Internal Controls group to help ensure that operational risks in the business are well defined and managed proactively and that issues are addressed in a timely manner;
- Support budget holders in effectively conducting tender processes and ensuring value for money is achieved very targeted to ensure they repeat the exercise for future procurements.;
- Facilitate the development of the internal controls framework, ensuring the coordination of stakeholder participation, feedback, and buy-in, along with ongoing maintenance and validation of the framework's compliance;
- Develop the internal controls toolkit, including standards, roles, and responsibilities, along with practical guidance and tools, including ongoing ownership of the toolkit. These are some of the various responsibilities that may arise from this role.
Who we are looking for – Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Administration, Management, or a related field;
- Fluent in Portuguese & English;
- 3–5 years of experience in internal controls and auditing;
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills;
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
