Position Purpose
- Manage and control OPEX budget for Malaysia market and entities cost center. This is achieved through involvement in developing the budget of OPEX together with respective budget owner, constant monitoring/analysis and reporting of the actual spending. The objective is to ensure that OPEX is allocated effectively/efficiently and spent as planned i.e. within the budget limit as well as comply to JTI's Operating Guidelines and GHE policy.
- Drive for process improvement. Collaborate with FP&A managers and gain deep understanding of their reporting and analytics needs to identify opportunities for process automation and improvement.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Manage the OPEX budget process by working closely with Malaysia market budget owners to develop OPEX budget during ASP cycle. Coordinate with all functional owners to ensure total OPEX budget is in line with the total company's plan. Provide analysis of OPEX for local management presentation and reporting to region/global.
- Coordinate monthly phasing of OPEX spending from budget owners during planning cycle - OL/LE to ensure that OPEX spending is planned according to various Marketing initiatives. Analyze actual spending and explain deviations vs different planning cycle - LE/ASP. Review and monitor the actual spending to ensure it is within budget limit (AP/LE) and comply to JTI Operating guidelines. Actively communicate and pre-empt the budget owners on total marketing investment vs plan.
- 'Manage month end closing in cooperation with accounting team. Coordinate to ensure the completeness of actual expenses taking into consideration of prepayment and accrual for the year. Ensure expenses is posted correctly by cost center and project (WBS) for accurate phasing of expenses by budget owners.
- Retrieve data from SAP/GPM to prepare variance analysis on a monthly basis for Corporate reporting (Market CFO P&L Brief). Provide presentation materials/spending analysis related to Marketing investment for management meetings.
- FP&A process automation and improvement:
- Collaborate with FP&A managers and gain deep understanding of their reporting and analytics needs to identify opportunities for process automation and improvement.
- Serve as subject matter expert/power user in reporting tools used by FP&A. Build and deliver training to drive adoption and optimal use of existing and new reporting tools and technology.
- Provide sound and quick financial analysis and support to Management for their decision making. These could be achieved by:
- Ensuring analysis is comprehensive and has reflected all related issues/factors involved.
- Utilization of key financial analysis tools including
- Capital budgeting techniques, i.e. Net Present Value analysis (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Return on Investments (ROI).
- Prepare business case with "what-if" scenarios analysis to provide management with better insight on key sensitivities and its impact on corporate earnings.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
- Recognized university degree preferably in accounting and/or finance
- At least 3-5 years working experience in a large multinational company in a similar function with significant experience in Financial Modelling and Analytical Skills.
- Proficient in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
- Advance MS Excel, SAP HANA, GPM, IBM Cognos TM1.
- Maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines; Good communication skills; provides support to other team members.
