Sales Executive - Kuala Lumpur

 

The Sales Executive (Field Marketer) is accountable & responsible for their assigned territories in ensuring optimal planning & execution of field marketing, trade service level and A&V opportunities. They maintain continuous streamlined communication with all key partners for efficient resolution of any trade opportunities/challenges. They will be expected to analyze information from tools like DSD/TME/Retail Eye systems and conduct territorial exploration for business opportunity and growth, and observe market dynamics in accordance with JTI standards.

 

As the Sales Executive (Field Marketer) in the area of Kuala Lumpur, you will: 

 

  • Find opportunities in the market via Field Marketing approach focusing on consumer centric at retail level to deliver brand building strategies, strategic market development planning & product assessment for optimal awareness & to gain SOM. You will undertake a proactive approach to convert retailer to ‘re-teller’ to gain competitive advantage, and ensure that all actions and plans, including the assigned distributor's sales team actions are in accordance with JTI standards.
  • Ensure the achievement of field marketing, sales & distribution objectives focusing on the right & high impact outlets within the designated area. You will achieve measurable sales & distribution targets through close monitoring and working closely with distributor's sales team/areas of responsibility. Your other field focus includes to scout, identify, secure/install merchandising units and assigned outlets visitation for any related activities.
  • Develop and maintain a highly motivated and competent distributor's sales team by fostering a good working relationship with the salesperson through regular field visitation, understanding their needs & providing appropriate support. You will appraise their performance and guide them where improvement is needed by providing clear direction & coaching/supporting attention to the assigned distributor's salesperson. You will also provide timely & clear feedback regarding salesperson performance & market dynamics.
  • Maintain proper and updated administrative records on sales data, distribution analysis, merchandising records and other business related costs. Take accountability to fully optimize information from DSD/TME systems and Marketing & sales programs towards realizing the full benefits for the business. You will participate or implement any ad-hoc activities as requested by your superior, and actively participate in meetings/discussion on a group or individual basis to have a clear and concise understanding of JTI business objectives. You must have a good knowledge of the merchandising activities / programs to leverage on placement opportunities in the trade within the allocated budget and assigned market. 
  • Maintain & develop a mutually productive relationship with all assigned accounts like general trade, key accounts, etc. and customers through frequent visitation (including compliance check) & ensuring sales team provide the expected satisfactory trade service level. You need to take accountability to ensure JTI is boldly positioned against competitors in any channel or retail outlet that we maintain business relationship with. You will be flexible & readily accept any changes in the roles and responsibilities  - due to business needs as and when determined by JTI.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum SPM/MCE. Diploma or Degree holder in Business Administration, Marketing  or any other related fields.
  • Relevant working experience preferably in FMCG. Fresh graduates with the right demeanor and a sales-oriented attitude are welcome.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Knowledge of Chinese and local dialects are an added advantage. 
  • Strong leadership and social skills, able to communicate effectively.
  • Has the ability to plan and organize well.
  • A self-starter who can meet objectives under minimum supervision.
  • Must be familiar & capable in using business tools provided. E.g. DSD/TME/Retail Eye etc. 
  • Must have GDL, or class D driver's license with at least 2 years of driving experience
