JTI is opposed to all forms of illegal trade and is proactive in its efforts to combat the trade in illegal tobacco products. Its Global Anti Illicit Trade Operations (AITO) is at the forefront of JTI's efforts in this regard, with core objectives being, securing JTI's supply chain, combating counterfeiting of JTI brands and combating the smuggling and illegal distribution of illicit whites and other forms of illegal trade which adversely impacts JTI markets and business. Hence, the Regional Office is now looking for

 

AITO Manager

                                             

The AITO Manager has a key role in delivering AIT objectives and will be based in a key or priority market for which the person will have operational responsibility for and additional markets as may be required.

The role of AITO Manager includes but is not limited to, developing, managing and directing AIT projects, utilizing external Service Providers (SPs) to conduct investigations to gather and evaluate information on all aspects of the illegal tobacco trade and related activities, to develop relationships and liaise with national and international law enforcement (LE) organizations across the region and share such information where appropriate. 

The AITO Manager will also be responsible for investigating incidents of diversion and smuggling of JTI's products where they arise in order to maintain supply chain security; and will be required to conduct such duties in compliance with all national laws and legislation, JTI Code of Conduct, JTI Policy and Procedures and AITO Standard Operating Procedures and Guidance.

 

What will you do?

 

1) Developing Intelligence 

  • Identify, recruit and manage Service Providers (SPs) in a manner consistent with all legal requirements and JTI Policy and Procedures.
  • Develop and direct investigations through SP's, setting clear objectives and methodology; Gather, assess and disseminate information to relevant LEA's or for internal use in risk management and other business objectives.

2) Law Enforcement Liaison 

  • Responsible for enhancing and developing relationships with law enforcement, other government agencies and JTI Markets.
  • Support local market and AITO Regional Teams efforts to impact the overall illegal trade as well as prevention of diversion and smuggling of JTI genuine products.
  • Organizing illegal trade awareness sessions for LEA's will be required on occasion.

3) Reporting

  • Prepare detailed reports/updates on the progression projects and core objectives, including development and analysis of intelligence on all aspects of the illegal trade, trend analysis, monthly reviews and operational activities.
  • Core activity will be preparation of intelligence reports for dissemination to law enforcement and investigation reports to support ongoing AITO enquiries.
  • Present orally to audiences within and outside of the company to demonstrate and explain AITO strategies and activities

4) Internal Relationships 

  •  Work in close cooperation with all functions/JTI Departments, i.e. CA&C, AITO, AITS, QA, IP, Sales, Legal and other Market functions.
  • Maintain and develop excellent relationships in the company to support regional and market management to enhance AITO reputation

5) Budgeting and Travel 

  • Efficiently and effectively manage financial expenditure.
  • Undertake robust financial planning and control of projects and meet reporting obligations.
  • Prepared to travel domestically on a regular basis and to other markets within APAC Region if required

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Minimum requirement in 2nd level education but University degree in business, economics, law or other related fields would be preferred.
  • Good report writing and computer skills are necessary; experience in investigative/law enforcement operations/management or similar experience in private industry is desirable.  
  • 5 years of experience in conducting and managing investigations in public and/or private sector or in legal support services or the ability to demonstrate comparable business experience.
    Experience in working effectively with local and regional law enforcement and intelligence agencies or the ability to demonstrate comparable business experience would be beneficial
  • Fluency in English and second language (local dialect and Chinese)
