What is this position about?

You will play a critical role in driving our company's commitment to sustainability by identifying and implementing solutions to ensure responsible sourcing and manufacturing of our electronic devices, fostering trustful relationships with our suppliers, and ensuring adherence to our sustainability goals. This includes good knowledge and understanding of (Human rights, Forced labor, Conflict mineral, Recycled material etc.) across the world for RRP devices and Refills (Cartomizers) produced by 3rd party manufacturers. The incumbent will work closely with our RRP sourcing teams and our suppliers to advance our responsible sourcing program and ensure respect to human and labor rights in our value chain.

 

What will you do?

  • Work closely with RRP Sourcing teams and JTG suppliers to support in implementing Sustainability strategy for RRP supply chain. The support includes challenging and aligning agreed KPI's and deliverables of programs and projects initiated ensuring alignment and coordination with business partners (suppliers) and RRP Sourcing function. 
  • Drive the implementation of sustainability strategy (Supply chain due diligences for labor management and conflict minerals, Supply chain mapping, follow-up RBA audit result etc...) aligned with business focus areas ensuring maintaining close communication with internal and external business partners. 
  • Ensure proper education and awareness for business partners (Suppliers) and internal stakeholders (RRP sourcing) to ensure smooth implementation of sustainability strategy and build strong relationships to ensure their timely support to JTG RRP sustainability activities. 
  • Represent JTI externally especially for our external business partners in the supply chain, where the incumbent serves as an internal expert on RRP sourcing Sustainability issues and supports the RRP Sourcing Strategy Director with the implementation of the strategy in the JTI business. Trend and best practice monitoring as well as participating in conferences and presentations are part of that work. Coordination and leading Sustainability projects with business partners is a key part of this work.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Has 5-7 years of work experience in human rights, social auditing, compliance to international labor standards and codes of conduct, preferably within industries related to electronics, manufacturing, or consumer goods
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of Human Rights, Labor rights, International development, Social Studies, Sustainability, Supply chain, or other relevant degree.
  • English language for effective verbal and written communication, Japanese/Chinese are a strategic advantages.
  • Has demonstrable knowledge and proven experience in responsible sourcing of electronics products and relevant raw materials, specifically industry certification, standards and practices such as those of RBA/RMI/OECD guidance on minerals
  • Strong project management skills and stakeholder management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with stakeholder engagement and partnership skills internally/externally
  • Ability to understand external regulatory and stakeholder requirements and translate them into actionable plans
  • PC literacy (MS Office and SharePoint)
