Logistics Supply Chain Specialist (Temporary)

 

The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager in logistics activities of JTI Vietnam, Factory and Distributors, in full compliance with organization's policies. 

 

As the Logistics Supply Chain Specialist in the area of Logistics & Supply Chain, you will be: 

 

Inbound and Outbound Logistics Management (Raw Materials & Finished Goods):

(Main stakeholders: Marketing & Sales, Regional functions, factories, third party service)

  • Responsible for on-time arrival of Leaf & raw materials, non-tobaco materials from overseas to local factory via monitoring an end-to-end inbound logistics process (i.e. from understanding the priorities of shipments, or instruct/ liaise with logistics stakeholders to re-priotize & accelerate to meet new timeline, preparing material contracts, ensure Suppliers provide sufficient, correct shipping documents to effective customs clearance & in-land transportation, ), with KPIs to minimize demurrage fees and avoid delayed production. 
  • Provide in-time logistic support and/or proactively flag up potential issues that may impact supply capabilities.
  • Ensure Finished goods stock deliveries from factory to distributor warehouses are carried out in a timely manner, at optimal costs and with appropriate freshness; utilizing truck capacity per delivery request to optimize transportation cost.
  • Occasionally support the importation of sample shipments in close collocation with cross-functions and external agencies.
  • Provide internal stakeholders (such as FP&A) information of shipment for further financial analysis.

 

Finished Goods Inventory Management:

  • Optimize healthy inventory levels of FGs across factory & distributors warehouses, ensure timely availability of stocks yet in balance with stock freshness. Main tasks include:
  • Timely reviews of inventory levels across locations in light of the latest trends of sales demands, obtain timely from Sales team stock demands so that to arrange timely, sufficient & correct shipments from factory to distributors warehouses.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders (factory, 3rd party warehouses, depot warehouses) to re-allocate / fulfill ad-hoc/ urgent sales request.
  • Reconcile, investigate & coordinate corrective actions in case of mismatch, promptly identify and flag up OOS or aging issues to Line Manager, Sales team, warehouse keepers preferably with a solution.

 

Others:

  • Physical check quarterly and randomly distributor warehouses (warehouse conditions, operations & document, physical vs reported quantity of good & bad stocks)  in compliance with JTI standards
  • Follow-up issues, propose solutions & monitor execution such as installation of T&H tracking devices, dehumidifiers, air-condition, beetle traps, etc.
  • Supervise the NTM, leaf & raw material & FG destruction process in compliance with JTI guidelines. Ensuring proper documentation & procedures in place for internal control & internal audit.
  • To undertake relevant tasks as may be directed by the supervisor

 

Requirements: 

 

  • Minimum University graduates, Logistics background and relevant experiences in this area

  • At least 1 year working experience in FMCG company in logistics environment and a strong understanding of Vietnam customs regulation, import/export activities and inventory management

  • Business knowledge in tobacco or other FMCG industry will be advantage

  • Good oral & written communication skill (English and Vietnamese)

  • Sufficient knowledge of Logistics with basic knowledge on Import/Export, Supply Chain activities

  • Demonstrate logical thinking & time management 

  • Able to work independently and as part of team.

  • Negotiation skill to work with government company
