Rewards Manager (Factory, Danville, VA)

 

 

Position:

 

The Factory Rewards role is pivotal in managing labor cost calculations and ensuring the quality of payroll management within the factory environment. Reporting to the central rewards team, this position focuses on a specific population of the factory, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting to support cost planning and accounting for salaries and fringe benefits.

 

Responsibilities:

Headcount and Labor Cost Planning:

  • Collaborate with the cost center manager and P&C Partner to determine required headcounts, salary structures, and fringe benefits data for various planning cycles (latest estimate, annual plan, strategic plan).
  • Calculate, analyze, and monitor plan data for the designated factory population, ensuring alignment with company-wide objectives.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare P&C reports and staff data related to salary costs, time management, absences, and statistics, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Perform monthly reporting requirements, calculating payroll and compensation-related KPIs, and conducting variance analyses.

Payroll Management and Coordination:

  • Oversee comprehensive payroll processes for two business entities with bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Manage data input related to special payments, bonuses, and other non-hourly compensations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the external payroll provider, facilitating the transfer of necessary payroll data and resolving any discrepancies.

Internal Reporting and Quality Control:

  • Generate and analyze payroll reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports to management as required.

Personnel Education and Compliance:

  • Educate and train staff on payroll procedures and best practices.
  • Provide guidance on the proper submission of payroll-related information.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and ensure company compliance.
  • Keep accurate and confidential payroll records and assist with audits by providing necessary documentation.

Ad-hoc Support and Project Participation:

  • Address ad-hoc requests from the business, providing data reports and consolidated information from P&C systems such as SAP and Paylocity.
  • Support global and local projects and initiatives, including but not limited to Orchestra, payroll system upgrades, and process enhancements.

 

Within 6 months you will:

 

  • Gain extensive knowledge of key aspects of the business.
  • Become an expert in managing payroll and rewards operations in factory setting
  • Establish yourself as a key player in the team, contributing to the success of our operations.

 

Requirements:

 

Payroll Processing Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
  • Experience with managing payroll for hourly employees, including overtime and multiple shifts.

Data Management:

  • Proficiency in handling and processing payroll data and labor cost calculations.
  • Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret payroll reports.

Communication:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the external payroll provider and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively train and educate staff on payroll procedures.

Problem-Solving:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Ability to think critically and handle sophisticated payroll issues.

Confidentiality:

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Adaptability:

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing regulations and company policies.
  • Ability to learn and implement new processes and software quickly.
