Quality Control Operator

 

What This Position Is About 

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that the processes and products in the Make pack, Filters, and Primary areas meet predetermined specifications. This involves conducting thorough inspections, maintaining detailed records of inspection outcomes, and offering feedback when necessary to address control issues. Additionally, the role entails participating in data analysis to calculate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identifying root causes for corrective action. 

Furthermore, the position involves operating and performing light maintenance on quality control instruments and equipment to ensure their proper functioning. Ultimately, the individual in this role plays a crucial part in managing and optimizing the JTI controlled supply chain to align with the company's sales and distribution objectives, thereby ensuring uninterrupted product availability. 

 
Areas of Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure Compliance: Conduct regular inspections of processes and final products according to the Quality inspection plan. Take corrective actions when specifications are not met. 
  • Maintain Quality Data: Record daily inspection results in the quality database or hard copy records. Calculate and summarize measures and test results for reporting. 
  • Monitor Material Handling: Inspect material handling and process flow adherence to procedures, including brand changeover. Prioritize health and safety. 
  • KPI Calculation: Organize data for Key Performance Indicator (KPI) calculation and root cause analysis for corrective action. 
  • Manage Quality Unsure Inspected Product (QUIP): Hold, segregate, label, and inspect quality unsure products. Document root causes and propose solutions. 
  • Proper Use of Quality Measuring Instruments (QME): Handle and utilize measuring and control equipment safely and appropriately. 
  • Adapt to System Changes: Participate in system upgrades and ensure effective implementation. Coach shop floor operators and participate in machine commissioning. 
  • Implement 5S and 3R: Standardize Quality laboratories through participation in implementing 5S (Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and 3R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle) principles. 
  • Manage Tasks and Projects: Handle various tasks and projects as assigned by the manager. 

 

Ensuring quality and working on Continuous Improvement: 
Ensuring product adherence to JTI's quality standards. Continuously checking products for visual defects and ensuring that all the production parameters are in line with the production orders. Sorting rejected products and waste materials. Working on the Continuous Improvement (CI) of processes within Make Pack, as well as machines and systems used in the production of semi-finished and finished products as per JTI standards. Ensures production area cleanliness and compliance with 5S3R standards. Ensures completeness and condition of own working tools. Support and play an active role in companywide CI initiatives such as IWS - Integrated Work System. 

  

Safety: 
Adhering to operational, legal and official regulations on occupational safety and accident prevention. Understanding health and safety aspects of own work, identifying potential hazards and always making own workplace healthy and safe. Demonstrating safe behavior, reporting incidents and near misses to the supervisor, reporting identified unsafe conditions and behaviors and eliminating them within their own authority. Passes information on possible safety-related issues during shift handover. 

  

  

Who Are We Looking For - Requirements 

-Completion of a technical degree or equivalent work-related experience. 

- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Manufacturing Operations. 

- Intermediate PC skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications. 

- Knowledge of internal regulations and safety policies of the company. 

- Proficiency in laboratory skills. 

- Familiarity with statistical principles. 

- Basic PC skills, including familiarity with MS Office applications.
