Production Line Operator

 

What This Position Is About

The position exists to perform the operation of a production or filter line (maker or packer, including auxiliary equipment). Role includes basic adjustment of the line equipment to ensure smooth production as per the required output and product quality standards. 
As an operator, you will also assist in minor preventive maintenance activities and the creation of standards for your equipment. Additionally, it is required to keep the equipment and workplace clean and orderly according to 5S3R standards.


Areas of Responsibilities:
Qualified operation of a machine type:
Performing qualified machine operation, enabling timely production of products as well as the packaging of products according to JTI quality standards requirements at the lowest possible cost. Using the right materials as per the product specifications and checking the materials at the beginning of each shift, as well as changing of product at the machine/line. This also includes the filling of the machine with materials. Correct reporting of wastes, machine downtimes, breakdowns and material usage if applicable.


Cleaning & basic maintenance of machines & systems:
Performing timely cleaning and basic adjustments of the machine according to JTI standards. In collaboration with the mechanic, exchanging spare parts and consumables, and applying lubrication on the machines whenever required.


First level troubleshooting:
Using automation tools and visualization, identifying errors and faults that could impact the quality and functioning of the machines. Proactively finding solutions to correct errors/faults. Raising to mechanic/electrician when needed. Sharing all needed information with other operators/technicians working in subsequent shifts and using all collected knowledge for proper planning of shifts and activities.


Ensuring quality and working on Continuous Improvement:
Ensuring product adherence to JTI's quality standards. Continuously checking products for visual defects and ensuring that all the production parameters are in line with the production orders. Sorting rejected products and waste materials. Working on the Continuous Improvement (CI) of processes within Make Pack, as well as machines and systems used in the production of semi-finished and finished products as per JTI standards. Ensures production area cleanliness and compliance with 5S3R standards. Ensures completeness and condition of own working tools. Support and play an active role in companywide CI initiatives such as IWS - Integrated Work System.

 

Safety:
Adhering to operational, legal and official regulations on occupational safety and accident prevention. Understanding health and safety aspects of own work, identifying potential hazards and always making own workplace healthy and safe. Demonstrating safe behavior, reporting incidents and near misses to the supervisor, reporting identified unsafe conditions and behaviors and eliminating them within their own authority. Passes information on possible safety-related issues during shift handover.

 

 

Who Are We Looking For - Requirements

  • Completion of technical/vocational training.
  • Minimum 1+ years experience as a machine operator in a production environment.
  • Fluency in English
  • Basic PC skills (MS Office applications).
