Maintenance Specialist

 

What This Position Is About

As part of the factory's Maintenance/Production Department, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining the optimal safety and technical running parameters of production and auxiliary equipment. 
The incumbent is responsible for the execution of assigned maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and overhaul activities, both unplanned or as per the Maintenance Plan requirements as well as for adjusting or setting up the production equipment. 

 


Areas of Responsibilities 

  • Ensures that production and auxiliary equipment operate under optimum safety, quality, and efficiency conditions by performing maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and overhaul activities, both unplanned and as per the factory's Maintenance Plan. 

Is responsible for timely returning to the Spare Parts Warehouse, any unused spare parts which were not used/replaced during any maintenance activity.

 

  • Performs correct diagnosis of the technical defects or malfunctions of the production lines and ensures they are documented in the company's ERP SAP systems and systematically fixed/repaired.  
  • Identifies the root cause of production equipment malfunctions or breakdowns and actively works towards eliminating them as well as preventing their reoccurrence by defining preventive measures or maintenance tasks.
  • After performing any assigned maintenance task, they are responsible for documenting the intervention using the company's ERP SAP system and/or other existing forms. 

 

  • Monitors carefully the production and auxiliary equipment during operation or planned downtimes to identify any signs of wear and tear and reports it accurately and timely using the company's systems. 
  • Reports immediately to the line crew and Maintenance Supervisor / Planner any critical malfunction or potential safety, quality, and operational risk posed by the production equipment's technical state or by any maintenance intervention performed by himself or somebody else.   
  • In case of production equipment breakdown which results in halting the production process, attempts to repair/fix the equipment as soon as possible, by replacing the broken part(s) when spare parts are available in stock or by implementing a temporary fix when spares are not available. 

 

  • Supports the Spare Parts Specialist during the regular Spare Parts Stock optimization activities by identifying obsolete spare parts for production technologies no longer present in the factory or in the plan to be scrapped or relocated to other JTI locations. 
  • Provide technical support to the Maintenance Supervisor / Planner in the regular process of optimizing the Preventive Maintenance programs for production and auxiliary equipment.
  • Delivers regular dedicated specialized technical training and evaluates technical proficiency and know-how of line crew members. 
  • Creates technical One Point Lessons and provides on-job training and is active in the process of general technical and maintenance knowledge transfer to line teams.
  • Participates actively in any quality, safety, or other production performance improvement activities specific to the production processes. Support and play an active role in companywide CI initiatives such as IWS - Integrated Work System. 

 

 

Who Are We Looking For - Requirements

  • Secondary education - Electro-technical profile (mechanical, electrical, electronics, industrial automation).
  • 5+years of validated experience, in closely related roles within an FMCG or industry environment
  • Fluency in English
  • MS Office, SAP PM, Analytics. 
  • Knowledge of TBM (Time Based Maintenance) / CBM (Condition Based Maintenance) would be beneficial.
