Consumer Activation Manager 

 

The Consumer Activation Manager is the overall lead in the development of consumer activation initiatives for equity-building and CE initiatives for RMC and RRP aligned within the CBU strategies and brand priorities for Work (DSA), Live (GT/MT), Play (HRC) and emerging channels.

The incumbent, working collaboratively with the Brand (HQ) and FMZ Teams (Field), will deliver activation plans, guidelines and establish a list of activities to support the national or regional brand campaigns and the bottom-up approach of the FMZ Teams in their program planning, execution, and evaluation within their region.

The role will entail cross-functional working and co-ordination between FMZ Teams and HQ based functions (Brand, Consumer Activation, Sales, FFDG, Merchandising, PPO, Legal, and Compliance) to ensure the effective execution of consumer activation programs. 

 

 

As the Consumer Activation Strategy Manager you will:

 

 

1)  Strategic Planning

  • Create overall consumer activation strategy for equity-building activities for Work (DSA), Leisure (HRC), Live (GT/MT) and emerging channels in all regions/territories based on Brand Plans and consumer insights. Plot the consumer journey and path to purchase and ensure optimal activation of consumers in each touchpoint. 

 

2)  Consumer Activation Plan and Guidelines

  • Develop and oversee Consumer Activation plans and guidelines to enable HQ brands and commercial business unit in shaping the direct-to-consumer activities mix. Ensure ongoing competitiveness and appeal to target adult smokers through quarterly review and ensure relevancy of the investment matrix and KPIs through half-yearly review. Ensure proper budget planning, tracking, and phasing of activation budgets and adherence to timeline submission. 

 

3) Cross Functional Partner

  • Function as a single point of contact between the FMZ Teams and HQ based functions (Brand, Consumer Activation, Sales, FFDG, Merchandising, PPO, Legal, and Compliance) to ensure the effective execution of territory program 

 

4)  HoReCa, Leisure & Deignated Smoking Area (DSA) Account  Management

  • Custodian of HRC & DSA guidelines with defined KPIs, investment matrix, and applicable performance tracking standard. Champions DSA guidelines and central account management with Territory Activation Leads that include knowledge build for CBU on local DSA account management. 

 

5)  Key Event Partnership and Activation

  • With Consumer Activation Leads and Territory Activation Leads to champion all priority and must have events partnerships and activation based on the investment matrix to ensure investment to consumer reach is at optimum level. 

 

6)  Executional Compliance

  • Ensure all trade engagement activities are executed in line with JTI Marketing Codes and adhere with national & local legislations 

 

7)  Other tasks

  • Performs other necessary ad hoc that may arise as part of brand / competitive dynamics.

 

 

Who are we looking for:

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher preferably of Marketing / Business / Communication - related courses.

Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in Sales, Trade / Channel Marketing or Marketing that includes on ground Field Sales experience from an FMCG company.

Language Skills: Good command of English for daily business communication

  • Ensure data from various sources (e.g. Nielsen, TME, Tracker, consumer segmentation, field insights) are used to identify locally relevant commercial opportunities. Understand the 'big picture' and know where to find missing data & resources

  • Understand back-office processes & ressources in-depth and leverage sound project management skills.

Be Commercial

  • Focus on tangible, commercial results. Always install suitable measurement processes. Focus on consmer conversion and acqusition, sustainable volume driving programs and distribution and SKU range expansion.

  • Natural communicator applying a targeted communication style tailored to stakeholders. Able to achieve results through others.
