Internal Controls & Credit Manager

 

 

What this position is about – Purpose: 

 

In this role, you will:
- Lead the internal, financial and credit/cash controls and compliance pillar for Egypt entities (including cross functional support for FZ and GSC)
- Set, monitor and execute the strategic direction for internal controls in conjunction with the FD
- Set, monitor and execute the strategic direction for credit and cash controls pillar in conjunction with FD
- Be accountable to the local Excom and other verticalized/functional management on all aspects of entity control

 

 

What will you do - Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead the internal, financial and credit/cash controls and compliance pillar for Egypt entities (including cross functional support for FZ and GSC). Understand and embed the role of the pillars into the Egyptian organization. Balance strategic decision making with day to day operational activities. Ensure robust reporting processes to keep the FD and key management stakeholders up to date with control developments, failures and risks
  • Set, monitor and execute the strategic direction for internal controls in conjunction with the FD. On an annual basis agree with the FD and other stakeholders focus areas, risk mitigations and improvement opportunities and drive them to completion. Ensure the internal controls pillar stays up to date with relevant JTI and local business developments and control frameworks adjust accordingly
  • Set, monitor and execute the strategic direction for credit and cash controls pillar in conjunction with FD. On an annual basis agree with the FD and other stakeholders focus areas, risk mitigations and improvement opportunities and drive them to completion. Through ongoing engagement with all levels of the sales operation, ensure the pillar constantly evolves to stay ahead of risks, working with the business to proactively implement mitigations as the market grows
  • Be accountable to the local Excom and other verticalized/functional management on all aspects of entity control. Understand that the role requires multiple stakeholder engagement at all levels of the business, to both identify risks proactively and ensure all other stakeholders understand their role in implementing a best in class controls environment. Drive this engagement through deep business understanding, excellent communication skills and constant relationship building
  • Develop the organization, mapping out and backfilling critical tasks, implementing Agile style ways of working, developing talent and succession plans. Ensure a deep understanding of all roles in the organization and map out critical tasks and ensure that backfill is present, well trained and capable. Use job rotation and agile concepts to keep the team fresh and motivated, drive talent through the organization and make sure succession and career planning is an ongoing discussion

 

 

Who are we looking for - Requirements: 

 

  • You have a University degree, CPA qualification, with time spent in Big 4 accounting firms, or corporate accounting, internal controls functions of large multinationals
  • At least 5 years experience in Egypt in controls, compliance and statutory reporting environment. Strong knowledge of EGAAP, IFRS and Egyptian tax a must, treasury experience highly desired. Proven communication and self starter skills
  • English fluency, Arabic fluency. High quality PowerPoint and excel skills required. Exposure to SAP and Microsoft Dynamics highly desired
