Data Activation Manager

Position:

 

The Data Activation Manager role will work on LRA, CA&C, and P&C Data & Analytics initiatives with a strong focus on demonstrating data in these functions to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and business impact.

In this role, the Data Activation Manager will act as the Data Product Owner, bringing JTI functions to the next level and ensuring product evolution over time.

 

This role requires a combination of business focus, strong analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The Data Activation Manager also stays informed about industry trends and advises organizational leaders when changes are needed.

Together with the Data Strategist, this role ensures that data and information remain up to date, co-creates data-driven strategies to transform data into assets for analysis and advanced analytical use cases, and reviews methodologies and approaches in alignment with industry best practices and capabilities.

 

The Data Activation Manager will collaborate with LRA, CA&C, and P&C business functions to identify and drive data opportunities while supporting the development of analytics capabilities to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Data & Analytics Execution – Leverage analytics to generate insights, measure impact, and optimize data use. Support KPI framework development and conduct fit-gap analyses.
  • Project & Vendor Management – Oversee data programs, manage vendors, ensure timely delivery within scope and budget, and handle change management
  • Data Opportunities – Identify and propose data-driven opportunities, assess internal/external data sources, and optimize data collection
  • Data Quality & Evaluation – Ensure data validity, relevance, and high-quality standards. Translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Training & Support – Educate business leaders on data-driven approaches, provide performance metrics, and enable end users to leverage data products
  • Safety & Compliance – Follow and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards, ensure training, and address workplace hazards
  • Leadership & Oversight – Enforce safe work practices, monitor compliance, and demonstrate dedication to safety and data governance

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  • Experience in data analysis and insights, preferably in HR or Corporate Affairs
  • Advanced SQL; basic knowledge of R or Python
  • Experience with Power BI/Tableau and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with big data storage solutions (e.g., Azure Data Lake)
  • Skilled in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from multiple sources to solve business problems
  • Comfortable working in remote or indirect teams
  • Passionate about questioning and interpreting data critically
  • Creative thinker with a fresh approach to data analysis and storytelling.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to present findings to both business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across functions
  • Proactive, digital-first, entrepreneurial, and curious mindset
  • Basic knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Fluency in English
