Data Analytics & Project Lead
Purpose:
The Data & Analytics Project Lead defines the data-driven, multi-source analytics approach to develop insights that will power strategic recommendations and solutions that answer GSC cross-functional challenges and business opportunities. The Data & Analytics Project Lead develops a measurement strategy to define success metrics and tracking requirements, and they think through how data use cases can be designed to drive uplift in corporate functions, processes, initiatives, and analytics.
In this role, the project lead will be responsible for designing a data strategy that complements and helps to accelerate the JTI GSC function transformation roadmap, focusing on actions around data ingestion, data enrichment, and data activation.
You will work with the HQ GSC Functions teams to generate value leveraging industry and market knowledge, plus internal/external data to accelerate the transformation or to empower the execution.
In addition to advanced analytic skills, this role is also proficient at assessing and evaluating the data maturity level of the different business areas in GSC functions, designing and developing roadmaps to become a data-driven company, and co-creating data use cases engaging business stakeholders. The Data & Analytics Project Lead will work closely with colleagues to sharpen insights and translate them into use cases to drive further uplift in the Finance business vision and advocate for the use of data in meaningful ways.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying the business requirements and opportunities within GSC processes and business ideas
- Design data-driven use cases and define metrics and KPIs for success measurement to drive towards the business goals of the JTI GSC area
- Develop Data Strategy playbooks and define quick-win solutions
- Develop data toolkits and/or frameworks to decentralize knowledge sharing and scale data activation
- Define data governance templates (including roles & responsibilities for MVPs)
- Develop an approach to break down data use cases into pre-requisites and a path to execution, to then provide clarity to data scientists/ engineers on how to bring it to life
- Collaboration across HQ Supply Chain and GSC Teams and key markets whenever relevant to drive the data strategy across JTI
- Assess priorities and define high-level effort estimates for data use cases to map out a roadmap for releases in collaboration with the data product owner
- Collaborate with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to ensure the strategy is correctly executed and identify opportunities for data use cases
- Define priorities and deliverables for suppliers, guide and direct the supplier team to drive towards quality deliverables and output
Requirements:
- Relevant Degree in Business, Organization Management, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or Finance is desirable
- Minimum 5 years of business professional experience focusing on business/ data strategy in the domain of Supply Chain or Finance
- Familiar with data science lifecycle projects, from the building phase to the deployment and monitoring stage. Solid track record in analytics implementations and business consultation, as it will act as an interlock between the Data Scientists / Data Engineers and the Business Stakeholders
- Passionate about challenging data problems, finding insights in data, and applying your conclusions to drive clear and practical business impact.
- Proven experience in defining data use cases, KPI frameworks, and measurement approaches relating to Supply Chain, Finance, or similar
- Experience with analytics storytelling, translating technical problems or solutions into business value
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to identify and collaborate with key stakeholders across functions
- Knowledge of agile ways of working (DevOps, Scrum, retrospectives, backlogs),
- SAP experience in the areas of planning, logistics, and finance, particularly within the Global Supply Chain (GSC) context
