Primary Automation Engineer

The Primary Automation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and continuous improvement of primary process automation systems. The role provides hands-on technical support for SCADA, PLC, MOM, and related automation platforms to enable safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations.

What you will do

  • Ensure optimal performance and availability of primary process automation systems, promptly addressing automation-related issues that may impact production.
  • Work closely with Maintenance and Cell Structure teams to improve process stability, prevent damaged batches, and support strong process capability (Cpk).
  • Perform system and hardware maintenance, including software management and regular backup updates, and ensure compliance with automation robustification standards.
  • Collaborate with Factory Engineering and equipment suppliers (OEMs) on projects, new machine installations, upgrades, and automation-related changes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to electricians and production teams on programming and automation-related matters.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and Kaizen activities, in coordination with CI engineers.
  • Comply with all EHS requirements, internal regulations, and corporate policies, demonstrating safe and responsible work practices at all times.

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar automation or manufacturing engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, and communication hardware.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and interpret, write, and troubleshoot automation and logic programs. 
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
