Cell Lead

 

 

Position Overview:
Organizes work of assigned cell in order to provide optimal utilization of production capacity, high quality products and maintaining safety in the work cell. Owns 24/7 Safety, Quality, Delivery & Productivity area results. Responsible for building team capability through active coaching of the cell line pair leader and definition of training requirements of the line team.

Participates in key planned activities to role model and coach teams. Responsible for driving/leading improvement plans for area. Being a role-model of high standard for the cell team. Manage and inspire the cell team's performance and career and drive their retention and commitment. When there is a gap in team’s results and capability, hold your team leaders accountable.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the safety, quality, production results and compliance within assigned cell and ensure that required volume will be delivered with the planned and budgeted headcount.
  • Performs daily audits of the machine functioning status, systems and management principles and orders / implements corrective actions.
  • Ensure volumes are produced in full in a timely manner against production plan and consistently provide accurate inventories in the area by Process Order reconciliation and closure to avoid inventory cost and eliminate loss.
  • Avoid incidents by instigating the 'zero quality incidents' mentality and culture in the area by constantly reiterating this during toolbox meeting ensuring that everyone in the team understands that quality is an utmost priority.
  • Prevents and  avoids incidents by ensuring 'zero safety incidents' mentality and culture in the area by cascading all safety communications  from EHS.
  • Collaborates well with Process Lead and Maintenance Lead to balance resources in order to achieve Make Pack department operational goals as well as building high performing team by providing the necessary trainings.
  • Perform any other tasks given by the supervisor. Compliance with EHS procedures, labour law, corporate guidance, internal regulations and work performance instructions
  • Understand health and safety aspects of their work and learn about potential hazards, know and maintain required control measures in order to keep their workplace healthy and safe.
  • Develop their competency to do the work healthy and safely, participate in health and safety training and receive appropriate health and safety knowledge and required qualifications, observe and follow safety signs, posters,warning signals, and written directions and instructions
  • Know Legal and JTI health and safety requirements associated with the work hazards and comply with all applicable health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Always demonstrate safe behavior, report incidents and near misses to their supervisor, report identified unsafe conditions and behaviors to their supervisor and eliminate them within their authority and ability to do so.

 

 

Job Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical course.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience, with proven leadership in managing manufacturing operations.
  • Strong grasp of technical and technological concepts, with a track record of optimizing production processes.
  • Demonstrated people management skills, including coaching, mentoring, conflict resolution, and fostering accountability.
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably within top/global FMCG or the tobacco industry, with measurable performance improvements in cell operations.
  • Background in Integrated Work System (IWS) is highly preferred.
  • Experience in Daily Management System (DMS) routines, Center Line/CIL practices, and Defect Handling processes to ensure operational discipline and equipment reliability.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Production System (IPS) methodologies to drive standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Strong administrative and team coordination capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • SAP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and develop diverse teams.
  • High adaptability, continuous improvement mindset, and customer‑oriented approach.
