Corporate Affairs & Communication Manager
What this position is about – Purpose:
This position will play a key role in implementing corporate affairs strategies and programs, maintaining a strong stakeholder network, and engaging with external parties.
What will you do – Responsibilities:
In this position, the person will :
- assist, support and represent the CA&C Director in Corporate Affairs specific topics such as : Regulation (EU TPDII), Tobacco Taxation, Anti Illicit Trade, International Travel Retail) and Compliance programs, stakeholder mapping & relationship management
- provide support to the CA&C Director on External Communication/ Media Strategy
- provide support to Sustainability & Internal Comms Manager to improve internal communication mix (Website, Intranet, Business TV, corporate newsletters/ magazines/brochure/ materials)
- have co-responsibility for the press relations with trade media (press releases & advertisements in close collaboration with Sales & Marketing)
- contribute to the development of comprehensive strategies to address new regulatory threats to the business.
- cooperate with other departments and other tobacco companies within the National Manufacturer Association
- contribute to the preparation of positions on regulatory issues for submission to the government
- collaborate with various institutions including Ministries, Parliament and Customs
- Manage Community Investment programs and networks
Whom are we looking for – Requirements:
- Graduate in Communications, Law, Business School, Politics, Economics
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a ministerial or parliamentary office, a consulting firm (audit, advocate, lobbying), an industry association or business in sectors such as food, oil, spirits, soft drinks and pharmaceuticals.
- Good written Dutch language skills, fluent English is required
- Excellent political, societal and cultural understanding of the country
- Experience in highly regulated industries and excise taxation is an asset
- Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships with external parties
- Deep understanding of governmental decision-making processes is required
- Analytical, structured, and pragmatic person who can recognize problems, do the research, and propose appropriate solutions
- Good Communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure environment
- Should also be agile and able to quickly adapt strategies to a changing external environment
- Enjoy interacting with external parties and confident representing the company and upholding our reputation.
