Make & Pack Manager

 

About the position:

 

You will have overall responsibility for the production and inventory management of required quantity of products (cigarettes and filters) for the domestic and export markets within deadlines, defined quality standards, at highest possible efficiency and lowest cost in order to meet the short and long term forecast. You will be responsible for building up and continuously developing the production organization and IWS (Integrated Work Systems) to supervise achieving these goals in a most efficient way. You will be responsible for supporting and providing implementation of internal and external technical training activities in production department. You will also develop and maintain an environment for high employee morale and satisfaction.

 

Main areas of responsibility:

 

Delivery of Manufacturing KPIs & Projects:

  • Develop action plans to achieve Manufacturing KPIs and financial commitment
  • Manage, control and report Manufacturing KPIs as specified timing within factory 
  • Communicate immediately and openly for any deviation (positive or negative) for achieving KPIs
  • Proactively support and contribute to Factory KPIs achievement & Project execution

 

Make Pack (MP) Department Management:

  • Identify risks in workplace and continuously improve the operating environment with 5S3R principle
  • Identify opportunities for energy savings and implement them
  • Manage daily, weekly, monthly tasks and levelize team's workload
  • Make decisions for MP activities

 

IWS principles:

  • Foster IWS principles among the MP shop floor
  • Coach team members about all IWS standards and execute the HC and fill the gaps as needed
  • Ensure the IWS standards are applied on the shop floor efficiently 
  • Ensure the assigned pillar is regularly assessed through the pillar audits (minimum annually) and adjusting the plans accordingly
  • Overall Coordinator of IWS implementation in the shop floor

 

Compliance to Policies & Procedures and Regulations:

  • Ensure global/local policies & procedures, Code of Conduct, regulatory requirements, international standards to be implemented and followed within department
  • Develop and govern Production related internal process, policies and procedures
  • Ensure team member's compliance to JTI policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with NPD processes, JTI's business systems

 

Development of Employees:

  • Execute global/local P&C policies & procedures
  • Evaluate people's skills and knowledge and develop an efficient training plan
  • Update job description for all positions in the department
  • Coach team members and peers for their competency improvement

 

Compliance to Policies & Procedures and Regulations:

  • Comply with global/regional/local Safety policies & procedures, regulatory requirements
  • Comply with ISO9001, OHSAS18001, ISO14001, ISO 50001
  • Openly initiate dialogues with persons not complying with JTI policies & procedures
  • Comply with department/team processes, policies and procedures
  • Adhere to SAP and similar processes, complying with JTI's business systems

 

Requirements:

 

  • BSc in Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial position in Manufacturing, preferably in Tobacco or FMCG industry
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
  • Analytical & Problem-solving skills
  • Communication skills
  • Process and time management skills
