Job purpose:

The EHS Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining global and local EHS programs and management systems within the Leaf Function. This includes understanding and managing EHS and ESGA (Environment, Social, Governance, and Agronomy) risks relevant to the Leaf Function, ensuring appropriate control measures are in place to maintain a healthy and safe workplace and eliminate environmental risks. The role involves implementing global EHS and ESGA initiatives, ensuring all required elements of the ISO 14001 and 45001 systems are effectively operational, and striving to achieve the financial and operational goals set for the Leaf Function. Compliance with relevant JTI and regulatory standards is essential, and the EHS Manager will frequently travel to farms to oversee these activities.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

EHS and ESGA Risk Management:

• • Identify and manage EHS and ESGA risks relevant to the Leaf Function.
  • Implement control measures to ensure a healthy and safe workplace, eliminating environmental risks.

EHS and ESGA Standards & Programs:

• • Coordinate and implement global EHS and ESGA strategies, standards, objectives, and programs.
  • Develop local EHS programs focused on:
    • Creating a safe workplace and fostering a safety culture.
    • Enhancing employee safety competency.
    • Reducing environmental impact (waste, CO2 emissions - Scope 1, 2, and 3).
    • Achieving EHS and ESGA-related KPIs.

Compliance:

• • Ensure compliance with legal EHS requirements applicable to the Leaf Function.
  • Maintain company adherence to these requirements.

Training, Competencies & Safety Culture:

• • Provide EHS leadership and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Demonstrate commitment to EHS and continuously improve health and safety performance.
  • Develop safety methods and ensure all employees receive appropriate EHS training.

EHS Management Systems & Activities:

• • Fully implement ISO 14001 and 45001 Management Systems.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of management systems in line with relevant standards.
  • Participate in the global EHS team to develop strategies, targets, and programs for JTI factories.

Leadership:

• • Execute management policies for the assigned department.
  • Hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, dismiss, or assign employees with appropriate authorization.
  • Manage various tasks and projects as requested by the line Manager.

Who Are We Looking For?

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or Management.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years in a similar role, with at least 1 year in a managerial position preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Proficiency in English (both oral and written).
• Confident user of MS Office.
• Familiarity with the company's internal regulations and safety policies.
• Practical experience in environmental and safety practices within manufacturing enterprises.
• Proficient in using PCs and relevant programs.
• Ability to travel to the field.
