   Position Purpose

  • The incumbent's responsibilities are:                                                                                                                          
  • Initiating the budgeting/planning process for JTI's USA Leaf Operation Legal Entity in line with JTI's corporate guidelines and requirements. (e.g. Earnings, conversion cost, Free Cash Flow).
  • The budgeting/planning process includes the different planning cycles throughout the year.  
  • Ensuring analysis of actual results vs. planned results are communicated to local management in a practical, transparent and timely manner using the value stream models.
  • Successful completion of monthly reporting templates for local and global use.                                                                                                                                                       

Location: Danville, VA.

The position is a hybrid opportunity, fifty percent onsite.


Responsibilities and Requirements 


Financial Planning

  • Preparation of TDT, ASP, LE's, PMM, and OL's concerning Balance Sheet/Entity P&L/Free Cash Flow while ensuring alignment with JTI's USA Leaf Operations' business objectives.
  • Ensuring the ASP and LE must accurately reflect the best estimate based on current company knowledge and experience, emphasizing Earnings, NI, and FCF.
  • Utilization of Financial Planning & Reporting ERP Systems, software, and packages.
  • Prepare the G/L account forecasts for all Value Streams within the US Leaf Organization: Purchasing, Processing, Ops Services, and Support Functions.
  • Accurately forecast Product Costs based on all applicable and available information to ensure standard costs and actual costs are as closely realized as possible and to coincide with Global PC Policy.  


  • Report financial results to local management in a timely and accurate for quick decision making.
  • Prepare presentations for senior management and make presentations to local management as required.
  • Input Factory Market Forecast, track actuals and explain variances through JTI's FM BPC system.         

Value Stream Analysis  

  • Prepare the Value Stream Reporting pack for all Value Streams within the US Leaf Organization: Purchasing, Processing, Ops Services, and Support Functions.                                                             
  • Work as a business partner with a specific value stream to analyze P&L accounts on a monthly basis.                                                       
  • Strengthen the partnership role of finance within the Value Stream framework to promote ARCI (accountability/responsibility) and cost control.      


  • Prepare JTILS' Prepayment requests to ensure liquidity within the operation and optimal cash flow among both JTI LS and JTI SA. Setup of a revolving model to be reviewed and discussed with the Leaf Finance Manager/Entity CFO on an ongoing basis.
  • Reconcile outgoing sales monthly to ensure sales and prepayments are clear appropriately.                



  • University Degree (economics, finance, accounting)
  • 2-3 Years Experience, preferably in a FMCG Industry and Production Environment.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and oral skills.  
  • Excellent computer skills with proven proficiency in MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).  SAP and Business Warehouse experience would be preferred.
