Accountant
Position: Responsible for providing accounting and reporting services for JTI Zagreb. The role includes creation of purchase requisitions, General Ledger postings for both local and IFRS reporting, support of month‑end closing activities, fixed assets and T&E administration, cooperation with GBS and Corporate Accounting teams, and preparation of tax calculations as well as statutory and group reports.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records of receivable and payable transactions
- Handle travel and expense processing for the local entity
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly statistical reports to local authorities
- Prepare financial reports for accounting and finance purposes (e.g. VAT returns, annual reporting)
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing, ensuring accounts are reconciled and balanced
- Cooperate with internal and external stakeholders, including shared service centers, auditors, and international finance teams
- Stay up to date with accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance with solid knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong command of Excel and SAP
- Very good level of Croatian and English
- Team-oriented, well organized, and open to learning and new challenges
