What this position is about:


JTI is committed to ensuring the sustainability of its business and wider society by understanding and striving to exceed the expectations of its stakeholders. This commitment is reflected in the JT Group/JTI Global Sustainability Strategy & Targets which JTI UK’s Sustainability Team is responsible for delivering at a market (country) level. 
You will be part of the team that manages JTI UK’s Sustainability Programme, with a specific focus on enabling the business to contribute to wider society through Community partnerships.  This will involve enabling employees to both contribute to local Communities and play an active role in delivering the business’s Sustainability ambitions as well as supporting business functions to create and deliver their sustainability plans.



What you'll do:


  • You will manage the Community Investment projects and activities associated with 3 of our national charitable partners and all 20 of our local charitable partnerships, ensuring that the programmes have specific actionable goals and targets, partner proposals reflect these high standards and budgets are assigned against agreed plans and JTI Community Investment Policy. 
  • You will manage the day-to-day relationships with the partners including; ensuring that our Community Partnerships deliver best practice corporate community investment in line with recognized standards. You will also oversee and manage all the outsourced administration relating to the charities ensuring the highest level of performance from the agency in place. 
  • For your areas of responsibility, you will manage all associated Community Investment measurement and reporting including B4SI and internal reporting, and carry out the financial planning and budget delivery.
  • You will create and manage sustainable employee engagement activities. Delivering an innovative employee volunteering program and fundraising activities that are inclusive to the needs of internal stakeholders. You will maintain knowledge of best practice approach and external standards and create plans to ensure JTI's programs are aligned to this and JTI's strategies, adapting employee engagement activities as JTI’s responsible business activities broaden.  
  • You will be fully responsible for the management of our 3 Community Committees at Weybridge, Crewe and Field Sales, supporting and providing guidance to the employee-led Committees to enable them to manage our 20 local charitable partnerships.
  • You will drive communications relating to your Sustainability and Community Investment responsibilities, generating messaging and stories which empower and engage employees. You will identify external opportunities to communicate sustainability and create appropriate messaging for communications channels. 
  • You will guide both the Crewe Distribution Centre and the UK Field Salesforce to create, implement, measure and communicate impactful and innovative sustainability plans in line with the JTI global sustainability strategy and UK Environmental and Sustainability ambitions. 



Who are we looking for:


  • 3-5+ years working in a fast-paced, multi-project role in a sustainability-related field (Community Investment, CSR, Environmental) within corporate, charitable or government sectors.
  • Good understanding of Corporate Sustainability and the environment in which UK businesses operate, with experience in creating and managing long-term business / charitable partnerships and stakeholder engagement programs. 
  • Skilled in developing and delivering multi-layer projects, setting, measuring and reporting on project KPI's and managing third parties. 
  • A passion for Communications is a must.
  • Previous experience in creating and managing employee engagement programs including employee volunteering is essential. 
  • Experience in delivering projects that reduce environmental impact is desirable.  
  • Budget management experience would be advantageous, as would experience reporting on a UK organization's current sustainability performance. 
  • Experience in delivering presentations to internal and external audiences is essential and public speaking experience is desirable.
