Anti-Illicit Trade Operations Director
Position:
As AITO Director for America, you will lead the implementation of the AIT global strategy in your region, developing and executing action plans to protect JTI’s markets and brands from the illegal tobacco trade. Your work will support the company’s reputation, profitability, and long-term vision
You will manage regional AITO operations, ensuring efficient delivery of targeted initiatives and best practices. Initially overseeing one direct report (expanding to two), you’ll also focus on talent development and training
Aligned with JTI’s Tobacco Business Strategy and 2030 goals, your key priorities will include preventing brand diversion, tackling counterfeiting, and addressing illicit trade. Building strong Public-Private Partnerships and collaborating with law enforcement and international bodies will be critical to success
You’ll maintain a sustainable AIT program, oversee risk management in line with JTI’s ERM framework, and ensure all projects are governed, documented, and meet strategic and financial objectives. Managing AITO Service Providers and ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and corporate standards will also be essential
Close collaboration with HQ and regional teams will be key to ensuring a unified and effective approach
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent university degree.

10+ years of experience in investigative or law enforcement operations/management, or similar experience in the private sector.

Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within law enforcement, intelligence services, or a comparable private industry position, with experience handling confidential criminal and civil investigations.

Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior law enforcement officials, customs authorities, and corporate leadership.

Experience in organized crime investigations is a strong advantage.

Fluent in spoken and written English; fluency in an additional language such as Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.

Excellent report writing skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
