Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager
What this position is about - Purpose:
The Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager is a high-profile role with interesting and challenging work combined with a high level of responsibility giving significant exposure to external (e.g. Group auditors) and internal stakeholders.
What will you do - Responsibilities:
This position is a key member of the Corporate Accounting department. The Corporate Accounting department is ultimately responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the Global Tobacco segment IFRS Financial Statements subsequently reported to JT (Japan Tobacco), the parent company based and listed in Tokyo.
Reporting to the Corporate Financial Reporting Manager, based in Geneva, the Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager is primarily responsible for:
- the monthly analytical review of the Global Tobacco segment Balance Sheet, incl. the timely resolution of any upcoming issues
- coordination of the Balance Sheet review process during the month before and at quarter-end
- the preparation of the quarterly Balance Sheet deck for the Global Tobacco segment
- the performance of assigned impairment tests (e.g., brands)
- participation in the CbCR & JCFC reporting process
- support with other ad-hoc tasks, e.g., providing support to Corporate Accounting projects or the preparation of technical accounting position papers
This position requires a high degree of collaboration with other Corporate Accounting team members and teams from other departments (e.g., Corporate FP&A, entities/markets, GSC, functions).
Given its exposure to various stakeholders, this key role within the Corporate Accounting team presents opportunities for future professional development within GBS Warsaw or abroad for engaged and committed candidates.
Who are we looking for – Requirements:
- Financial accounting experience (IFRS knowledge is a must) - strong technical accounting skills
- Experience/understanding of group consolidation
- SAP knowledge preferable
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at a minimum)
- Strong communication skills, team player and willing to work and interact with colleagues from different backgrounds and cultures
- Strong organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work independently in conjunction/coordination with other company functions and internal/external resources.
