Data Engineer Manager

 

Purpose:

 

The Data Engineer Manager for the Consumer Data Platform (CDP) is a role within JTI’s Digital Eco System, bridging advanced consumer segmentation capabilities with the robust infrastructure of CDP and the Central Data Lake Platform (CDLP). This role is instrumental in ensuring that JTI’s global segmentation initiatives are data-driven, scalable, and efficient, leveraging the full potential of Treasure Data, DES, and CDLP to deliver personalized and impactful consumer experiences.

You will work at the intersection of segmentation technology, and data engineering by designing solutions that enable seamless data flow between source systems and CDP within the JTI’s central data ecosystem. A critical aspect of this role is a strong understanding of data engineering principles and the ability to work with Azure-based data technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics. This expertise will allow you to collaborate with the CDLP team to build and optimize data pipelines that support consumer segmentation, execution, and performance measurement.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Build, test, and maintain CDP data model and business rules to harmonize the consumer profile data, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and efficient
  • Collaborate with IT security, Enterprise Architecture (EA), and Data & Analytics (D&A) teams to ensure workflows comply with security and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with the DES and D&A teams to integrate the different consumer touchpoints from Azure Data Lake and external, ensuring seamless data flows into CDP for advanced targeting and personalization
  • Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize data pipelines and automation processes for higher efficiency and scalability
  • Work closely with internal and external development teams to implement new features, enhancements, and campaigns
  • Perform code and peer reviews for data ingestions and CDP workflows and databases to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Ensure consumer profiles and data usage align with governance policies, global definitions, and business rules

 

Requirements:

 

  • University degree
  • 1+ years of experience in Treasure Data development or similar CDP roles
  • 5+ years of experience in Data and Analytics from a modeling and reporting standpoint
  • 5+ exposure to IT architecture and solutions for data flows among systems and applications
  • Experience in delivering solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform with a special emphasis on data solutions and services
  • Strong analytical skills and troubleshooting skills
  • Python, PySpark, SQL
  • Knowledge in testing and validating Analytical solutions
  • Data Engineering skills on Azure stuck (Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake)
  • Good understanding of Azure PaaS management and resource monitoring
  • CI/CD experience and DevOps
