Business Solution Architect (Data Segmentation & Activation)
Purpose:
The Business Solution Architect will lead the strategic design and evolution of our consumer data and marketing automation ecosystem. This role will focus on aligning business objectives with technology capabilities, particularly in the integration of Consumer Data Platforms (CDPs), Marketing Automation tools, and messaging/notification platforms.
This role is responsible for defining a scalable, future-proof architecture that enables the collection of consumer data from multiple sources, the implementation of a robust and flexible data model for segmentation, and the orchestration of omnichannel marketing and transactional communications.
The ideal candidate should combine a strong technical background with a good understanding of the Martech business processes, including the customer journey.
We are looking for a strategic thinker with a passion for leveraging data to drive consumer engagement and business outcomes, with the ability to liaise effectively with business and technical teams.
Responsibilities:
Business Solutions Architecture and Design
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure solution architectures for Consumer Data Platforms (CDPs) and Marketing Automation systems, including batch and real-time data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and industry best practices
- Define business-driven data models and segmentation frameworks that support personalized, omnichannel marketing and transactional communications across the customer lifecycle
Martech Integration Strategy Development
- Lead the development of a cohesive integration strategy across marketing technologies—including e-commerce platforms, consent management systems, and messaging tools—to build a unified and efficient Martech ecosystem
- Partner closely with technical solution architects to ensure smooth data exchange, system interoperability, and end-to-end integration across platforms
Business–Technology Alignment
- Act as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment of solution designs with business objectives and facilitating successful implementation
Collaboration with Stakeholders
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and translate business requirements, challenges, and goals into actionable architectural strategies
Support for Engineering Execution
- Provide architectural guidance and support to product engineering teams throughout the implementation lifecycle, ensuring adherence to design principles and technical standards
Maintenance of Technical Documentation
- Develop, review, and update technical documentation, including Solution Design Documents, integration blueprints, and data flow diagrams, to ensure clarity and consistency
Data Engineering Standards and Excellence
- Define standards for data ingestion, transformation, cataloging, observability, and stewardship to ensure reliable, trustworthy consumer data
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Evaluate and optimize existing solutions to meet evolving business needs, leveraging performance metrics, user feedback, and emerging technologies
- Continuously monitor industry trends, innovations, and best practices in consumer data management and marketing automation to inform strategic decisions and enhance solution capabilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Applied Math, or a related technical discipline is a plus
- Fluent in English
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution design, or technical leadership roles
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Consumer Data Platforms (CDPs), marketing automation tools, and customer engagement technologies
- 3+ years designing or overseeing large-scale data engineering solutions (streaming & batch)
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex, integrated marketing technology solutions
- Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with product, engineering, and business stakeholders
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and consent management practices
- Proficiency in data modeling, API integration, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Fivetran, Airbyte), stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub), and orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Dagster)
- Familiarity with E-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud)
- Understanding of data governance, identity resolution, and omnichannel orchestration
