EHS Director (m/f/d)

Join the Gostkow factory leadership team and play a vital role in advancing the factory’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) agenda from within. This opportunity is well-suited for experienced production or manufacturing professionals who understand shopfloor realities and are ready to broaden their leadership scope through EHS. You will help build a strong prevention and compliance culture, coach teams and leaders, and drive improvements that protect employees and factory operations - all while expanding your manufacturing expertise.

This role is ideal for EHS experts with proven experience in safety culture, a hands-on approach to daily operational challenges, and those seeking to take full ownership of a key agenda while growing into wider factory leadership.

Position:

  • Lead and coordinate the site EHS agenda with a strong operational mindset, partnering daily with Production, Engineering, Quality and other functions
  • Drive compliance with local and European requirements and internal standards, ensuring robust monitoring and timely corrective/preventive actions
  • Translate risk into practical solutions: identify hazards, assess risks, implement and sustain effective controls
  • Monitor, analyze and report agreed EHS performance indicators, turning data into clear actions and leadership decisions
  • Plan and manage EHS audits, inspections and follow-up actions; prevent recurrence through root-cause thinking
  • Promote an engaging prevention and safety culture across the plant, with visible leadership presence on the shopfloor
  • Represent the factory with relevant authorities when required
  • Lead and develop the local EHS team (three direct reports), building capability and shared ownership
  • Support IWS system implementation in organization

Requirements:

  • Passion for Safety and Care for Our People
  • Technical or specialized university degree
  • Strong experience in a manufacturing/factory environment (previous production background strongly welcomed)
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health and environmental topics in operations (hands-on application is valued as much as formal EHS background)
  • Confidence with audits/inspections, incident investigation, corrective and preventive actions
  • Ability to influence and coach leaders and teams, with clear communication and pragmatic problem-solving
  • Advanced English
  • Solid PC skills (MS Office)
  • Knowledge of local occupational safety and health legislation is an advantage

What to expect:

  • A seat at the factory leadership table through a high-impact agenda
  • Exposure across the full factory system and key decision forums
  • A development pathway to a more versatile manufacturing/operations profile
  • Wellbeing initiatives, flexible work arrangements, growth opportunities, and excellent benefits
